The only thing that I can really state is that "(What's the Story) Morning Glory?" by Oasis is my favorite album of all time. Other than that I like a lot of the usual stuff...nothing shocking and nothing daring.

"Pinkerton" by Weezer
"Blue Album" by Weezer
"Midnite Vultures" by Beck (yes, the one that everyone considers a joke)
"The Dandy Warhols Come Down" by the Dandy Warhols
"Veni Vidi Vicious" by the Hives
"The Globe Sessions" by Sheryl Crow
"The Stuff That Dreams Were Made Of" by the Starlight Mints
"Definitely Maybe" by Oasis
"Standing on the Shoulder of Giants" by Oasis
"World of Noise" by Everclear
"Feeling Strangely Fine" by Semisonic
"The Harsh Light Of Day" by Fastball

Yes I can get flamed pretty hard for those last three, but darnit if they were not some very very important and great albums that got me through 1998-2000. I don't listen to them much anymore, but I still consider them great.

This is in a very rough particular order...

1. The Beatles/"The White Album" : The Beatles
2. Revolver : The Beatles
3. Abbey Road : The Beatles
4. Rubber Soul : The Beatles
5. Sgt. Pepper's... : The Beatles
6. For Sale : The Beatles
7. Help! : The Beatles
8. Magical Mystery Tour: The Beatles
9. Let It Be: The Beatles
10. McCartney: Paul McCartney
11. Is This It : The Strokes
12. Ok Computer : Radiohead
13. London Calling: The Clash
14. When the Pawn : Fiona Apple tied with Pinkerton : Weezer
15. The Velvet Underground and Nico tied with Loaded: Velvet Underground

The Beatles conquer my list, of course. It was painful for me to leave out their other albums, but it had to be done. I am quite the weirdo.
But what will happen to the boy when the circus comes to town?

Oops, ack, I forgot GNR- Appetite for Destruction. I guess Sleater-Kinney gets the boot. I have trouble nominating anything I haven't been obsessed with for at least 2 years, but it seems others are comfortable with recent releases. Kind of interesting

I often have the same problem, but my exceptions, for the most part, reflect liking new material from a band I've long been obsessed with best. Example: I've been obsessed with Coldplay since before Parachutes had an American release, but I like Rush more than Parachutes, so that got my "coldplay vote." Same with Radiohead and Amnesiac (though I also had OK, and really could have put Kid A and the Bends up too).

Wilco I did actually only recently get into, but I dig them too much to leave them off. Easily a favorite that is here to stay.

I cannot hesitate to add that a Features full-length would be on my list in the blink of an eye.

it's a shame about ray-the lemonheads
i had a lemonheads fascination when i was in high school. it's by far their best album. my favorite song is "confetti."
my dad was in a band in the 60s with the brothers who produced that album (the robbs)...they also worked with stereolab and shonen knife.

as did i. and i was quite obsessive about it. in ninth grade, i scrawled "lemonheads" on the side of my green chucks (or chuck d's, as my black friends used to call them). ray owns me, but come on feel and hate your friends give me a a soft funny feeling. too bad evan dando is a moron and a drug addict.

more than any other group, the lemonheads have had the most impact on my musical tastes.
