more than likely I wont participate in trick or treating, but if I did, I'd want to be Frank, the bunny from Donnie Darko, that's would be scary and cool, both at the same time!

I was thinking about going as Cubs goat Steve Bartman, complete with a baseball that dangles in front of my face for me to swat at, but I'm afraid there may be to many of those.

So, I was Carl from Aqua Teen Hunger Force last night. Of all the people at my pre-party and the Costume Bahl, I think about 2 people actually got it. In fact, very few people even realized the mustache was real. Whatever, I was friggin' awesome!

I was Linus from Peanuts. Too few people got it, I fear. Many because they "always hated that comic/cartoon," which I took as an affront to taste.

And a damn good one at that.

I didn't know what Carl was, because I suck. I just thought he was going for an Italian look, which worked. I wore an electrical tape mustache and it was fun. And, I did get whipped by Bettie Page, yeaahhh

I completely agree with your thoughts on Linus and blankies. They both rule.
But what will happen to the boy when the circus comes to town?

Peanuts is great because it encapsulates all of humanity's shortcomings... the inability to escape childhood (Linus), the inability to consistently succeed (Charlie Brown), messiness (Pigpen), unbridled creativity resulting in a loss of connection with others (Schroeder).... this was in fact the subject of one of my college entrance essays. I love Peanuts.

Perpetual crabiness (Lucy). smile.gif

Okay, I guess all of humanity doesn't struggle with that one, but a lot of people sure do.

Sounds like a fun essay.

I'd be interested in reading that, Will, if you can dig it up.

I am a lifelong fan of Peanuts.

I was Charlie Brown in our high school's production of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Sam Ashworth was Linus. That's how we became friends.

I think my mom and I are going to go see the Hillwood production this weekend.

As am I. I hope kids still appreciate these cartoons and it's not just their parents making them watch it for tradition's sake. We need cartoons that can be entertaining, but not disgusting and full of innuendo like the ones that are being produced now.
