TOPIC: Two characters?

Hey I saw flyers for a band called Character playing at the Rose. The flyers advertised "hey! we know the strokes!" It seemed like this was a non-local band. Does the local Character know that this other band exists? Are they going to fight it out in a wrestling match for the name?
I then heard that the advertised Character did not show up for their Red Rose show. Maybe the local Character scared them off.

I assure you, there is only one Character, and they are local. Eventually, they will be international, though, because they kick so much ass. You should relish opportunities to see them now, in coffee shops, because in five years, you'll have to fly to Chicago, New York, or London to see them play.

"Hey! We know the Strokes!" on a flyer sounds like vintage Luke Schneider or Ryan Norris to me...

That flyer definitely came from the mind of Luke Schneider.
Character did show up but the other two bands didn't, so Character got to play longer.

If there were indeed two Characters, it would be my hope that they would settle the dispute just like the Chipmunks did when they discovered a girl singing group called the Chipmunks...a battle of the bands! I'm not a big Character fan, but I don't think I'd want them to become Characterette.

The flyer is in fact from the mind of Luke Schneider. It's supposed to be a joke. I explained to him that a lot of people wouldn't get it and would think that we were actually trying to use this as publicity. We don't know the Strokes, but there have been some bands who've tried to use the fact that they know the Strokes as a way to get people to their shows. The flyer is supposed to be poking fun at that. I personally didn't think it was funny, but I'm a stodgy asshole.
Baby Jane's in Acapulco, we're all flying down to Riooooooooooooo

I was wondering when that flyer would finally be used. I thought it was real funny, the picture was half the humor, though. I would think that no one would take a character flyer seriously if they had seen the hammer and sickle edition.

Side note- are there any of those left over? I would like one for cubicle decoration.
