Spanning the genres of course:
1. FFIII (US)-Easily the best written and realized part in the series. The relic and esper systems both kept the game from being bogged down by too many ideas and let the stroyline really shine. The graphics and sound were also the best the SNES ever saw. Beautiful.
2. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City-Freedom. This game clear has a sense of freedom that no game has come close to matching. countless hours have just been spent with friends trying to outdo eachothers record. or just to see who could survive with 6 stars the longest. The story was fun and the soundtrack is killer.
3. Super Mario Brothers 3-Remember going to see The Wizard just to catch the sneak peek of this game in action? The movie is laughable but man...were you are 10...nothing compares to that big wall opening up and seeing the title across the screen. It was the pinnacle of NES gaming.
4. Virtua Fighter Evolution-I was never really into Virtua Fighter or fighting games in general until i forced myself to pick up this game. It comes with a reduced price tag (19$) and damn, you get a serious bang for yo buck. The depth of the gameplay and quest mode will easily have you playing this for months and months with only a single character. Its amazing that a fighting game has that much pull.
5. WarioWare Inc:Mega Microgame$-A tough call for number five. but really when a game is this creative and addictive at the same time something must be said for it. Its like pure sugar on the screen. And with the little full version of Dr. Mario snuck in there...
