My biggest qualms with this list are that Original Pirate Material should not be in the top five, and that When I was Cruel and Turn on the Bright Lights should be. Elvis and Interpol should switch places with the streets and sleater-kinney.

Of course, I agree whole-heartedly. Those are definately in my top 5 for the year... smile.gif But I haven't heard either of the two albums that you suggested to switch.

My good friend richarddawson bought Original Pirate Material a while back. I listened to it and wasn't too impressed. Dawson likes it, but I think he likes it more because of the word geezer than for any other reason.

Damn straight! However, let it be noted that I like this album for pure comic value and nice vocabulary choices. I shelved Original Pirate Material within a week or two of purchasing it and have not listened to it for two months. I am consequently shocked that it is ranked higher than Interpol. That kind of pisses me off, because Interpol kicks major ass.
