Wow, that's a really abstract name. I like it.

Seriously, though, sorry Keith.

Jarvis does need a good home if you are into orange kitties with big feet. He makes funny noises as well.

you can always go the path of naming it after one of your favorite bands or movies. that's how my fish, carson (qeftsg fame) and harold (awesome features song fame), got their names.

what might also work: when we had our first party at our present day apartment, we made everyone in attendence write down a noun on one piece of paper and an adjective on another. with nouns in one bowl and adjectives in another, we drew them out in pairs and picked the best combination. and that was the new name of our apartment (aka the "sensual hatchet"). note: this might only work if you're into eccentric names.

also: fluffy, cuddles, or precious.

(and i'm sorry, keith sad.gif )

Thanks to everyone for their concern about my cat. I'm fine. Go on with your cat-name ideas. I want to name a pet Bagel, but I think that's better for a dog.

I have a cat named Kitty, and a cat named Buddy, and I think those are terrible names. I would give it some kind of name with a title, like Captain or Professor, and then some kind of random noun. Those are the best.

Doctor Fishnet
Admiral Pennyloafer
Captain Tiddlywinks.

There's an endless number of combinations!

And it's sad when pets die. I'm sorry.
That's so NA.

I think that's what my kitty wanted to be named. Everytime I called her Molly, she would correct me.

But that doesn't matter now because she ran away and was most likely hit by a car or something.

The Story of Orange Kitty:

Jarvis lives outside at Holeypeacoat & Muck's house. He showed up one day meowing at the kitchen door, so we went to feed him and he didn't act like a stray and was rubbing all over us and purring. We took him in & gave him a bath and put a note in the paper. He didn't even try to escape or scratch or bite during the bath, which is REALLY strange. We thought for sure that he was someone's lost kitty. No one called - he fooled us - so we got him fixed and tried to keep him.

Unfortunately, there were already 3 kitties in the house at the time, and one didn't like Jarvis too much and started freaking out and destroying the house in response. Jarvis escaped one day and then came back a couple months later.

Since Holeypeacoat & Muck can't let him inside, they gave him a nice little kitty house (the J-hole) to sleep in and feed him every night. Whenever I go over there in the evening, he bats at the door and meows through the kitchen window. He just wants love! He is so sweet.... He is really funny and will just flop down on the floor and purr really loud and makes silly grunting noises. He loves to talk in his tiny voice. He has black dots on his lips. I wish I could keep him, but my pooh bear would revolt, and my apartment is too small for that many..

We had the same situation happen at an apartment on Belmont Blvd. An extra-friendly cat started hanging out on our porch. I started feeding him. I made him a bed. I named him Colonel Bruce. And then, at the tail end of an alcohol-soaked night, one of my roommates urinated all over Colonel Bruce and he never came back again. So sad.

Sad tale. But I'm glad you gave him a good name.

I found at cat that lives at my home. He was black and scrawny, and I found him under our air conditioning unit. He was nearly dead. We took him in, gave him shots, named him, and made him our own. He hates me for some reason, and will run away anytime I'm in the same room as him. And he would be dead if it weren't for me....

I didn't come up with this, so I can't take the credit, but my cat name suggestion is Paul McCATney.
