How come you can't rent music CDs? Anyone else ever wonder about this?

You can at the downtown branch of the library.
Relevant: Prince, PT Anderson, Punk, Post-Punk, Purple, Party of Five, Peter Swanson, Peter Gabriel-led Genesis, "Peter Panic", Paul's Boutique, Potential Energy, Every Features MB member but me.

YDDD and Token regularly take advantage of the public library's CD collection. But I think it's part of their contract with Metro Schools that they'll go to the public library twice a month.

Well, we did last summer at least. Not so much lately.

It's always odd to see what the public library has in stock for both movies and CDs. I've checked out albums by Beulah, Belle and Sebastian, The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, Beck, Radiohead, Nirvana, and John Lennon over the years.

I think CD renting is a great idea...but they'd have to put some anti-burn protection on those CDs.

They've started doing it on the internet with digital music. I think it's fantastic. With some services, you can even send it to an mp3 player and link it up on occasion to make sure you still have the service or the songs go away.
