instead of getting christmas presents for each other this year, my bf and i are thinking we'll pool our money and get ourselves the Wii.
does anyone here have it yet?
I played it over at a friend's house and it's way fun.
any suggestions for games?
or anywhere i might be able to find it?
thank you for being a friend.

Getting one before Xmas may take quite a bit of effort. As far as I know, most stores have received 2 shipments (although a third is expected to happen on the 17th). The first was on the launch date and I think most stores got around 33 or less. The second shipment was last Wednesday and it was even smaller (about 9 for most stores). They claim they'll be shipping millions by Dec. 31st, but I seriously doubt they'll be meeting the demand that's been generated. The key will be to find out when they'll be on sale through nerdy websites and be willing to stand outside the store all night before they hit the shelves (although, technically, they don't last long enough to have time to actually place them on a shelf).

I guess that's why they're recalling the wriststraps.

This morning was likely the last chance to get a Wii before Xmas. On another forum, this guy reported that he waited in line from 4:30 to 7:30 at Target this morning. At that point, they were informed that they would only be selling 15 units. He was 26th in line and I'm sure there were dozens behind him.

I'm now convinced that Nintendo is doing this intentionally to sell more DS Lites and Gamecubes to distressed parents who have to make their bratty kids happy next Monday morning. I bet they'll fill and fly off the shelves in early January. They're counting on parents to promise their kids a Wii and tiding them over with Nintendo products in the meantime.

You're probably right - though I'd be quite happy to have a DS Lite under the tree since I haven't had the chance to pick one up yet. I'll probably pick up a wii later in the year when there are more games. Right now, the only ones I'm interested in are Zelda (which is likely enough for me to grab a wii if I stumble upon one), and Trauma Center.
