I've waited a long time to try bootlegging at AmSouth. This is like fighting Iron Mike in Mike Tyson's Punchout.

Now that I think about it, the Cure are the only show I've ever actually enjoyed at Starwood.

I dunno. I might go if I have the cash. The only one of those bands I really want to see is the Cure. I saw them there in 1996 or so and it was awesome!

I'll definitely be going to DMB/Guster and John Mayer/Maroon 5 in August, though.

By the way, ya'll, it's called Starwood Amphitheatre again. Get with it.
Relevant: Prince, PT Anderson, Punk, Post-Punk, Purple, Party of Five, Peter Swanson, Peter Gabriel-led Genesis, "Peter Panic", Paul's Boutique, Potential Energy, Every Features MB member but me.

JC, I salute you.
I TOTALLY AGREE!

That was exactly my reaction! I still haven't gotten a straight answer on why it's been changed back. Is it just temporarily sponsor-less (like "the Coliseum") or, in a convenient turn of events, is it now sponsored by Starwood Hotels and Resorts? Either way, it makes me feel good to hear it being called "Starwood" again.

Now that we are obvious Big Wigs in the Republican Party, and have the ear of the President, Keith, I suggest we name it Peace Frog Productions/The Privates Amphitheater at Starwood

According to inside sources, it will renamed to the Kenny Rogers' Roaster Ampitheatre, sometime in October.

Actually, they were going to rename the Coliseum that because, much like a tampon, the Titans have only one string and they're only good for one period.

I'm sure someone here hasn't heard that one.

Muse is also playing. I saw them in 1996 opening for Kiss and I have been awestruck ever since. Pick up a copy of Absolution at Grimey's...especially for those who like Radiohead. It's like Pachelbel on steroids.

also playing in addition to muse is:
Cursive, Thursday, Head Automatica,
The Cooper Temple Clause, and Auf Der Maur.

Cooper Temple Clause is really really excellent for anyone who hasnt checked them out yet...kind of like a mix of ash, muse, the faint and oasis. lots of space rock with electronic experimentation.

this show keeps getting better and better.
although...i could do without the cursive/thursday aspect.

Honestly I wish it was just the Cure again. I could do without the other acts, and I won't be arriving until the Cure play and maybe for interpol. I just hope that all these acts don't jack the ticket price too high, and I REALLY hope that it doesn't affect the Cure's set time. I need at least 2 hours!
