I heard that Badly Drawn Boy was coming out with a new album, has anyone heard it or anything about it?

You must choose. It is like that movie "Sofie's Choice" only it is Nathan's choice. Do you know that movie, "Sofie's Choice"? It is like that. Only it is this.

yeah, and i've heard it's pretty good--more like "about a boy" than the rather uneven "have you fed the fish?" i don't know if it's been released in the states yet...

i've lost a lot of my enthusiasm for the poorly illustrated one, ever since the last time i saw him live...he was shitfaced & kept repeating himself, botching up lyrics, playing only parts of songs before stopping them and starting others, and just generally being a mess. i've seen him before, and it kind of comes with the territory with him--but it was just too much this last time, he went too far and even his charm couldn't bail him out with me...i think i even walked out before the end of the show, it was so appalling. i will, of course, get the new record, but i am so much less excited about him than i used to be...

For what it's worth, I saw him at Belcourt late last year and, even though I'm not too familiar with his work, I thought it was excellent. He was pretty relaxed and fairly comical. When was it you saw him? Was it the Slow Bar show a few years back?

yeah, i was at that belcourt show as well...i didn't like it, but i really hate sitting down at shows. it pisses me off, although it does appeal to my laziness.

he was very loaded at that slow bar show, but it was somehow appropriate that night. i was doing coke on a table by the stage and nobody seemed to notice. it was a great show, for all it's looseness. it was really great to talk to him afterwards, too. he seemed like a really nice bloke--but maybe that was just the drugs i was on.

i'll always remember that BDB show at the slow bar. he was about as drunk as i've ever seen somebody performing, but he was so sincere and heatfelt and nice about everything. And it was cool we were practically standing shoulder to shoulder with him.

I remember for some reason he and ryan hit it off and we almost talked him into coming back to idaho after the show.

Me too, since he KISSED ME- I just have to mention that at least annually on this message board.

I think it was that winning smile and those gorgeous eyes of Ryan's.
