I'm just waiting for all my bandmates to die so I can change the songs to how I think they should be. you'll all be much better off when you hear the real way "I Wanna Be Your Man" is supposed to sound.

I love Let It Be, and this is good news to me.

I still want a high quality DVD to be released of the film, however. I'm still waiting on that one (pref. with a Paul/Ringo commentary!)

So I'm guessing your 2nd choice for a screenname wasn't "Paulfan"?

actually, ive read that none of the band were too pleased with the final mix of "let it be".....so dont just blame paul. the rest of the band members and their widows/family members also had to be ok with this idea for it to happen.......

besides, im not very happy with the idea of fucking with the original album tracklisting (that just really annoys me)......i would be much happier if they had just decided to release a "get back sessions" box set instead of this......but ill buy it anyway

eh, I'm just being a jerk. i've worked all night. Really i just want to see all my bandmates die.

truthfully, i haven't heard many stuff from the Beatles that I liked. I bought Revolver- love it. I hate anything I hear on the radio by them, (96.3). I then bought Rubber Soul and there are about 4 or 5 quality songs on it in my opinion and the rest I skip over.

I need to go get Magical Mystery I hear. I will.

They should not take off "Dig it". Why take off two songs? Why not just add bonus tracks? Hmm?
But what will happen to the boy when the circus comes to town?

exactly.........

capitol should really look into remastering and reissuing the entire beatles catalog with bonus tracks and elaborate packaging (all of the current packaging sucks on the bealtes albums except for sgt pepper and the white album). maybe try and do what legacy did to the byrds catalog by adding the non album singles from the time periods of the respective albums as well as a few bonus tracks (alternate takes, demos, etc.)........but, alas, they probably never will

Well, I think that they left those two off because...how different would they really sound "stripped down"? They're like 20 seconds long.

I'm totally down with "Don't Let Me Down" being on there. In my mind, I always associate that song with the Let It Be batch of songs anyway.

I too wish that they'd done a box set instead, because I know that there are hours and hours of stuff from these sessions that would be great to hear. But oh well...I'm always happy to hear something new from the Beatles.

FOLDSFAN...you need to buy the White Album, pronto. Also, get Magical Mystery Tour and Abbey Road and Past Masters Volume 2. These are the Beatles albums that you will love. Trust me.
Relevant: Prince, PT Anderson, Punk, Post-Punk, Purple, Party of Five, Peter Swanson, Peter Gabriel-led Genesis, "Peter Panic", Paul's Boutique, Potential Energy, Every Features MB member but me.

Both of those recordings were just basically jams or the band messing around. They really add nothing to the album.

The movie shows the recording of "Dig It" with much more to it, and it doesn't even show the whole impromptu jam.

I just don't think they should take anything off of the album that's already there. And, I think they do add something to the album. The small things are sometimes the best to me. That would be kind of like having no "Can you take me back" on The White Album. But, I'm just an idiot anyway, so nevermind.

i'm not sure what to think of this. beatles stuff has alwasy been a touchy thing for me. especially since they are removing two tracks from the album. i'm not sure how well that will sit with my stomach. i agree with the idea of the releasing the film on DVD. also agree with rerelease of the other albums with bonus tracks. i'm not too sure what to think. i'll buy it but it won't be the same.

i think i'll go watch yellow submarine now.......

I agree with "Can You Take Me Back" and "Her Majesty," but the rough whatevers on Let It Be hurt it, I thought at least. I'm an idiot, too.

I appreciate the honesty but, really, how can one be in a rock band with pop aspects (not to mention a Ben Folds fan) and NOT like the Beatles? Their impact on rock is undeniable and can be heard in the songs that you play. I've just never understood this point of view & I always assume it just comes from not listening to the right Beatles music. I remember about 10 years ago when I read Michael Stipe saying a very similar thing in Rolling Stone. That's when I stopped reading his interviews.

Records that suck:

---------------------------

Records that are actually good:

With The Beatles
Please Please Me
A Hard Day's Night
Beatles for Sale
Help!
Rubber Soul
Revolver
Sgt. Pepper's
Magical Myster Tour
The White Album
Yellow Submarine
Abbey Road
Let it Be

Hmmm.....if I've weighed my pros and cons correctly, looks to me like they don't suck more than they do suck.
