So I just recently heard the song "Center of the Universe" and loved it! Kinda reminds me of early Features. The other songs I've heard so far are about 50/50 when it comes to me liking them. I also noticed they were coming to the exit/in May. Anyone plan on going, or even ever heard of them for that matter?

I'll tell you something. the same thing happened to me. I heard "center of the universe" and was like, "wow! what a great band! I'll go buy keep it like a secret IMMEDIATELY. i did, and was highly unimpressed with the rest of the album. it grew on me though. so give it time. built to spill is an aquired taste, like espresso or asparagus.
i happen to like all 3 of the aforementioned.

Yeah, I didn't like them for many many years & then happened upon Ancient Melodies of the Future. I think that's a fantastic album, but I'm still lukewarm on all the other stuff. Too much drawn out jamming for me. I saw them last year & it was the same way- some great stuff, a lot of mediocre & A LOT of jamming.

Yep, agreed. I'll be at the Shins' Asheville show, despite the fact that the price is 400% more than when I saw them at the Slow Bar.
