So I was going to the KUC to work on a paper and eat this afternoon when I discovered a DND concert in the KUC theatre. It was such a great surprise. I even drove home before my 6:00 class to get $$$ for the CD.

This was only the 2nd time I've heard them live and they are growing on me. I will say though, that I like the crisp sound on their album and their sound has seemed muffled when I've heard them (I used to have the same complaint about The Features). Anyway, I see what you guys have been raving about. Some girl was at the merch table with an orange features t. Was that anyone from here?

I already made the long journey to the 'boro for DND once this week. And that was plenty.

i went to this show. i kind of felt the need to apologize to the band after the show on behalf of the circumstances. the show was supposed to be outside on the knoll, but it rained and was moved inside to the tiny, awkward kuc theatre. it was just weird because everyone was sitting down and spread out around the room and coming and going because of class. i think it would've went over a lot better if it could've been outside. but the band put on a excellent show despite the shitty circumstances. kudos to them for that.

The creation of an eventual MP3 is inevitable. biggrin.gif

As I said on that same radio show, I need to buy their album already. But that $13 always scares me off from their store...some day...

Yeah, 13 dollars for a 2 disc album is highway robbery.

You're bloody joking aren't you? $13? That's like £6.50, in England I regularly fork out £10-£13 on a CD, just simply coz that's the best price. For instance A-Ha Shake Heartbreak I ended up buying for £12 and that was the best price I could find on the high street (wanted to listen to it straight away, so didn't order it off the net).
Razz the Kid- Legends are born that way.

I'm not sure if you can compare the price of independently released and major-label released albums. That money goes to completely separate places in each case. I expect to pay no more than $10 for a CD when the band gets 100% of my money. Plus, you're comparing the price of a CD in England with that of the US. Case in point: Tower has the Kings of Leon CD for about $10 (although, in a year, it'll probably be $19).

With that said, De Novo Dahl poured tons of blood, sweat, and tears into that album (as well as a fair amount of money, I'm assuming). It's a great product well worth $13, if not $20.

FYI: If you buy it locally, CD Warehouse on 21st has it for $11 and Grimey's is selling it (in the general secton rather than the local section) for $12.

hate to break this to you, but things are more expensive in england than in tennessee. frankly, things are more expensive almost anywhere than in tennessee. the standard of living is lower, and we make less money. it evens out.
oh the drudgery of being wet
