heard it through some inside sources that Seth will release a new Fluid Ounces album and have a cd release party somewhere in Murfreesboro in early July with Popular Genius playing as his backup band.

I, for one, am happy.

and yes this is all just stuff ive heard so take that for whatever its worth. dont mean to step on toes.

Although not as huge a Fluid Ounces fan as some, I'll second that.

I'd like for Seth to give me some piano lessons.

I don't know what I'm allowed to say about this, but the show will be recorded (and last I checked, mixed) by VC Records themselves, then made available to the loyal Fl Oz fans one way or another. I guess it's always good to have a backup in case something goes wrong, though.

In the world of indie music (and especially with any band affiliated with Spongebath), something always goes wrong.

So I'm assuming there will be no piano?

As I understand it, Popular Genius will be backing Seth on, I think, 5 songs. We will have a full horn section (3 horns), and PG frontman Andrew will actually be playing drums. I don't know what the hell our drummer will be doing, probably just wanking in time to the music, like he usually does. That's all I know right now, but I am really looking forward to this show.

"Daddy Scruff" would be awesome, but the one song that's just gotta be played is "Hey Lou." Perhaps since it was the unofficial Spongebath anthem, of sorts, Seth might be a little adverse to the thought of playing it again, but it would be so damn great. I always heard Fl Oz did the best version of it live, so...

I know the answer to this question!

And, to get to see Fluid Ounces live would be awesome. I missed my chance earlier. I will not miss it this time.

"Hey Lou."
I'll be starting this thread on the VC message board eventually, and I would be sad if a precious one-off show included Hey Lou. I'd rather the Features play it.

How about getting the original Ounces lineup back together? Is it me or did each subsequent lineup get less and less cool?

Play "Shamrock."
Relevant: Prince, PT Anderson, Punk, Post-Punk, Purple, Party of Five, Peter Swanson, Peter Gabriel-led Genesis, "Peter Panic", Paul's Boutique, Potential Energy, Every Features MB member but me.

I too thought the 1st lineup was definitely the best, but I eventually got to know Doug and Trev and they are fine lads indeed, and they complimented Seth's playing quite well. I wasn't particularly a fan of Elliot's drumming, but how can you really follow Sam Baker? I suppose the original guys are not available at present, or Seth would surely get them on board.

I too would like to hear Shamrock and Milk Moustache. Add Tricky Fingers and Stark Raving Mad to that please.

Also, play "Roll Call." That bassline is the SHIT!

You are forgetting about the illustrious Justin Meyer, who is indeed a badass on the skins. Not to mention he got his first lesson on the drums from the bandleader of a certain NBC talk show/E Street Band member.

You mean Moonie & the Johndogs, the band that resembles Fl Oz and plays all Beatles covers? I'd prefer them as openers, personally, but I don't think all members are available.

To cross over to other fanbases I would imagine. So, doing a split-ep with two "different" sounding bands would seem most effective to spreading beyond your typical audience. I don't know if it actually works tho.
