TOPIC: Fluid Ounces show July 3rd in Murfreesboro
Posted  Monday, June 21, 2004 at 11:29 PM
Post 1 of 30
I just got off the phone with Vacant Cage Records and am transmitting the following update about the Fluid Ounces show for them.

First of all, the previously announced info: it's this July 3rd at Wallstreet in Murfressboro @ 9 PM, Seth's first TN show in over a year. They will be selling the new Fluid Ounces record, The Whole Shebang, as well as a new t-shirt. Seth will be playing some of the show solo, and five songs with Popular Genius (who also open) playing as his full backing band. Some of those five songs will even be accompanied by a four-piece horns section.

Now for the new info: Matt Mahaffey of Self will be playing 3 songs with Seth, which will be tunes that he and Seth collaborated on to make (examples but not necessarily what will be played: Happy Accidents, Shelf Life, etc. Note that these songs were just examples I picked off off the top of my head: these may or may not be actual parts of the set, my guess is as good as yours). While this is a very exciting development, please note that Matt will be playing with Seth for only 3 songs! Don't show up expecting a Self set, but I'm sure most of you will just be happy to see Matt on a Tennessee stage again after all these years.

While I would definitely consider a Seth Timbs solo show more than worth attending, these guest appearances only sweeten the deal. It will truly be a night to remember, so if you can possibly attend the show at all, I highly recommend that you do!

Sounds cool. I'll probably be there.

Hey JD- now that Dreamworks is dead, maybe you can put out that new Self album.
I TOTALLY AGREE!

Keith, you are destined to rock. Never forget this.

please come to the show!!! it's gonna be a spectacle like no other!

The Whole Shebang is also available for pre-order on the vacant cage records website www.vacantcagerecords.com. the record will be available at the show aswell. you will also be able to find it in stores soon aswell.

if it were financially and legally possible...vacant cage would have no
problems with putting out ornament and crime. we'd probably promote it alot better too.......
We have about 1500 songs.....all of them good!

Dissed!

But it's true. Currently, neither party can afford the pricetag that's tacked on it. I don't know if I can say it, but Keith...let's just say its higher than the price on that new Verde album...

So basically, I'd love to put out both once I rob that bank.

I was hoping for "Cosmonaut," "Science Fiction," and "Irresistible Hook."

I'll answer for him.

Wall Street is a typical bar with a stage upstairs. There are no tickets for sale. Come early if you are worried about space for yourself and friends. However, Fl Oz events are typically poorly attended.

Yeah, I didn't go. Big surprise, I know, seeing as how I never go to shows anymore. But I just was not feeling a drive to Murfreesboro. Sorry.

You guys are so spoiled. I hate practically every Philly band I've heard and the ones I don't hate still aren't worth wasting money on, live or on CD. I would've paid 25 bucks to get into the Fl Oz show if I could have. Oh well, at least I'll still get the eventual bootleg...

I just thought I'd mention that there is talk of a Fluid Ounces greatest performances DVD being created and sold. If you are interested, please join the board and let your voice be heard. Just post at fluidounces.org in the topic on that message board.
