and so anoher album has leaked onto the internet! has anyone else got it yet? It's got to the point where you can't say something sounds like Franz. I wouldn't say the albums anywhere near as good as the previous one (It still needs more listnening to) but I like "The Fallen" and a few others. Some of it is just...well...words can't describe it!

That would be awesome if Franz Ferdinand didn't blow.

I've heard that the new album isn't as good as their debut album.

I thought i would give a run-down of the album

The Fallen - This has to be Franz Ferdinands best song since Michael and Take Me Out. The guitar is excellent and the lyrics are pretty good too. Unfortunately i find this track is the best on the album, not a good sign for the rest of the album. It's an instant winner though. The perfect intro track to the album

Do You Want To - I'm sure you've all heard this by now. I wasn't too fond of it at first but it certainly grows on you. It's really catchy either way. I won't say much more on this.

This Boy - I first heard a live version of this and it's clearly developed a lot since then. This is a pretty class song all in all. Another catchy riff, this is a very typical song of Franz Ferdinand. One of the better songs on the album.

Walk Away - This song was available for viewing on the homesite. It's a good song, i wouldn't be surprised if it was their next single. It's a lot slower than most song. The song has been brilliantly crafted over a long period of time and it shows very well. The lead guitar works well with the song. Another good song.

Evil And A Heathen - This song took a few listens. I'm not too sure i like the flanger effect, it doesn't fit well with the song but after seeing them play it live, I'm still not sure. The drums are good, but this one will need a little more time.

You're the Reason I'm Leaving
This is a very good song. This is what Franz are all about. Cathy guitar riffs and decent lyrics. A good song indeed.

Eleanor put your boots on - This is not a very good song at all, i liked it for 2 seconds until he started singing.... The piano sounded okay, but the lyrics don't seem to fit very well with the song. It sounds like they're trying to rip off the beatles, poorly. Worst track on the album.

Well That Was Easy - A fairly good track, good tempo changes - fast to slow, slow to fast. This is not really standing out as much as the earlie tracks. It's a tiny bit repetitive at times too.

What You Meant - The intro pulls you right into the song. This is a REALLY good song. There's nothing bad here at all. Genius riff. This comes close to challenging the fallen, but doesn't quite meet it. However, it's the second best track on the album so far.

I'm Your Villain - One of the weaker tracks, i didn't like the drums at the start, everything after that was pretty good. A nice guitary intro. The verse follows the guitar line nicely. The chorus seemed a little out of place, but the verse seemed to follow it up pretty well. The bridge is exellent "see ya later".with a guitar solo that way not be that impressive on some scales but it works well woth the song.

You Could Have It So Much Better - The lyrics in this song don't work as well as previous songs in the intro. This is a song that takes a lot of listening to.

Fade Together - .......*snore*........sorry, it is a little boring, a little to phantom of the opera for me. Nothing fast or interesting, just slow and tiring.

Outsiders - The guitar intro is a slick acoustic kinda jamming thing. The lyrics work well with this. There isn't a lot to this song, it's noce to listen to but it gets really repetitive towards the end. The only interesting bit, is at the end where something is said backwards. I don't know what it is so I'll upload it.

OKAY! I've found the bit they recorded backwards. It's at the end of outsiders. I've already reversed it but I don't have anything to speed it up. Click here to download the mp3 of what i've got so far. We MUST work this out!

There has been progress! I have found some software to let me change the speed by specific percentages. The result is much better. You can hear the voice a lot clearer now. I have 2 audio files for you to listen to now. I don't know exactly what he's saying now but I'd like to see what people think it is.

I feel really stupid now. After reading from NME that it would be backwards it turns out, it isn't. That's right. After reversing the mp3 a second time back to it's original state, it began to make sense. Your gonna have to download it to hear what they're saying now. Just click here for it.

I'm a pretty big fan of "Do You Want To" and I'm pretty stoked about this album.

And I don't know where one finds all this "leaked" music.

I don't know what similarities you see here. Franz Ferdinand is generic Indie Rock. Ricky Martin is latin dance music. Emo is a shelter for guys and girls who want to tap into their emotional side and sing about how depressed they are. If you are emo, you must be lving in a pretty crappy place to be that depressed, or at least, you force yourself to believe you have a reason to cry.

im not going to defend emo, but i will defend the depressed. youre walking on thin ice with this attitude that it is a persons own fault if they are depressed.

thin, thin ice.

but your last sentence didnt make that much sense so maybe i read it wrong and you would like to clarify.

Who are you to argue with Tom Cruise?
I TOTALLY AGREE!

Keith, you are destined to rock. Never forget this.

I thought it was common knowledge that depressed people choose to be that way because they think it's fun.

I may be alone but I think this album is a lot better than the first. Sure they ripped pieces off of a lot of different places, but it makes a pretty decent collage.

This is all I've listened to for the last 9 days. It's pretty darn awesome. "This Boy" and "Well That Was Easy" aren't all that good, but "The Fallen," "You're The Reason I'm Leaving," "Outsiders" and "Eleanor Put Your Boots On" are so awesome.

If only the "Do You Want To" video was available on iTunes.

It's certainly not the best thing ever recorded but I don't understand of all the hating on it. The only two types of people I can see not liking it, at least a little, are dumb little kids and dumb overgrown indie kids.

it's not that i hate the album [honestly, i haven't heard more than a couple of songs (none of which i really care to hear again)]. it's just that i had to hear that first album SO much (disliked it) that i formed a strong distaste for the band in general.
i also cannot pass up an opportunity to compare anything to ricky martin.
and i, who likes the white stripes more than anyone else i've ever met, am definitely not too cool for franz ferdinand.

Hey, did you see Franz Ferdinand on Letterman last night? I didn't recognize the song, but that singer can work it!
