i don't know if anyone cares about this (i don't...) but i know there are some darkness fans here.

The Darkness
Nashville Municipal Auditorium
Nashville, TN
Wed, 06/09/04
On Sale Fri, 05/07/04

Doesn't the venue seem a bit ambitious? Seems like they'd do better at the Exit/In.

yeah i would definately see the show if it were at the exit in...
but not so much at an auditorium.
im thinking that you are right about it being overly ambitious. the radio stations are going to have to give away A LOT of tickets.
I wanna offended no persons!

Man, I think that venue is PERFECT for the Darkness! It's a totally cheesedick 70s/80s Spaceship-looking place (actually, now that I think about it, both of our arenas look like spaceships).

As far as the size goes, they now can do a "theater" setup at Municipal for smaller acts where the seating capacity is much less.

I don't know. I think I might just go to that show. I'm not a huge Darkness fan, but I think it'd be a fun live show.

I heard a rumor a few months back that they'd be playing Rocketown. Now, THAT would have been awesome.

Do you really think so? I get the impression that the redneck-metal demographic haven't even heard of the Darkness. I've always assumed that the Darkness' audience is made up of music snobs and indie kids who listen to them to be ironic.

I've seen some "yahoos" jamming them from, of all things a Camaro, just yesterday. They are a fun guilty pleasure, but I think the indie days are over... hence the Muni Auditorium

I figure that it's people who

A - like the music

and

B - think they're onto the next big thing; and thus, like The Darkness a lot more as a result

I agree with JC on the redneck demographic.

I think a lot of high school kids like the Darkness. They seem very likely to make up a lot of the "B" category.
