The only difference between Nickelback and The Smiths is that Smiths fans dress slightly better and don't beat their girlfriends as hard.

I don't agree with everything the guy says, but he makes some very valid points.

Relevant: Prince, PT Anderson, Punk, Post-Punk, Purple, Party of Five, Peter Swanson, Peter Gabriel-led Genesis, "Peter Panic", Paul's Boutique, Potential Energy, Every Features MB member but me.

that was possibly the dumbest single article i've ever read. most of the things he attacks those bands for are either flat out lies or taken totally out of context.

probably. he hasnt trodded on a band i absoultely love and he has completely smashed a few that i really cant stand (tool, coldplay, radiohead) so he is still A-Ok in my book.

Man, I was so psyched- I thought this was a topic where we could all talk about which indie bands we hated the most. I was going to say Guided by Voices, but it's more like I don't understand what the big deal is about them, not that they completely suck. Some day the rest of you will learn how much the White Stripes suck, excepting a couple of songs. Do they even count as "indie" though?
