I've not really ever been one to come on the message board and promote shows of bands I'm playing in, but I think the time has finally come that I would like to cash in my "shameless plug" card. The band is called Girls & Boys and it is my baby, which is something that I've not been able to say about a band I've been in since...well, ever. And after so much time and energy invested, we finally have our first show. It's Thursday, April 28 at the End at 10:00ish. Sam Ashworth and Lylas are opening.

About the band itself: what we set out to do was be the Supremes backed by Wilco. How far have we missed that mark? You should come see for yourself and let me know, because at this point, I'm not sure how to describe what we're doing. Brian Fuzzell, formerly of Verde fame, is in this band, as well as Joe Baine Colvert (formerly of the Sneaky Eaters and Elaine) and Jim O'Shea (formerly of the Features and My Tyger). Also in the band are Mike Stiles, Adria Heimburger and Terah Thompson, who are making their debut performances on the stage!

So if you're not doing anything tomorrow night, come and see us!

So you must be Terah Thompson then, right? I knew your identity would come out eventually. I'll definitely be there, because I heard you were cute and that you were going to have a Tailor-made dress. Sounds hott.
I TOTALLY AGREE!

Keith, you are destined to rock. Never forget this.

That's not true! I saw Mike Stiles on the newspaper during a Hot Pipes show at the End!

I will be at this show for sure.

I'm very excited about seeing you guys tonight! I will need to drink lots of coffee to make it through, though. Lots.

Very impressive... of course, The Design was the highlight, great interpretation!

Between a brief Aha! reference, endless problems with gear, and a certain roadie helping him out, all it would have taken was one broken string for Jim O'Shea to officially be back in the Features.

I thought last night's show was very solid. I truly enjoyed all three acts. Congrats to all who participated (which, according to JC, included 1/3 of the audience at one point or another, so congrats to you as well).

GREAT show!

You forgot to mention lots and lots of devoted fans screaming at him throughout the show.

This was a really fun show. Great work guys... I mean boys... and girls...

Excellent show. I was right in front of the stage, so I couldn't hear vox as well as I would have liked, but that just makes me even more excited to see them again.

I was up front, too, but I'm not sure if we would have been able to hear vox well anywhere in the house. It seemed like the guitar was even louder after Jim switched out amps.

Of course, I understand that vocals get louder and clearer after the singer has performed the song live several times. Matt Pelham is an excellent example of this.

Yes. Perhaps it's "the Features curse"! Does D.Sergio seem to be plagued by technical difficulties?

But seriously, thanks to everybody who came. It was really more of a crowd than I was expecting.

Congrats on the show, I'll check one out in the future.

The answer to the question is since Don is on drums he doesn't have as many difficulties as he did when he was playing his 12 string Rickenbacker through a Vox AC30 with the Features. Of course playing a 12 string like he did is just asking for technical difficulties.

However, I have seen a snare head break before a show once.
