Johnny Cash wasn't much of a surprise. He's 71 after all.

However, I was very surprised that John Ritter died on the same day.

Man I lost on that one.. I was thinking John Ritter was Canadian... Ha Ha Ha...

See, that's a terribly witty joke for you youngins. There was this game show on MTV once called Remote Control, and they had a category called "Dead or Canadian". Its all quite clever you see... yesssss quite.

If you read that with a "Baby Stewie" voice its much funnier. Or at least it is if you are on 36 hour no sleep bender such as I.....

I guess the whole "dying in threes" thing holds up.

Not to mention the whole Three's Company thing.

I'm pretty darn saddened by the death of John Ritter. That was totally out of nowhere. The fact that he collapsed on set in front of his co-stars...that would be so traumatic. And his show was doing well too, it's sad that his 'comeback' had to be so short-lived.

Johnny Cash's death is equally sad, but totally expected. The 'Hurt' video pretty much prepared America for it.

Overall, this has been the worst year for celebrity deaths. Bob Hope, Gregory Hines, Warren Zevon, Barry White, John Ritter, Johnny Cash, Catherine Hepburn, and there are probably about 10 more. It seems like someone famous is dying everyday.

Death sucks.

Man, I was just thinking of Johnny the other day. Even if it's been coming a long time, it's very sad. I love his songs.

I hadn't heard. That's sad that Katharine's evil twin died the same year she did.

In all serious, I'm quite bothered by the death of Mr Cash. I'm dressed in all black today in memory. If I hadn't cut all my hair off, I would style it into a pompadour.

Carl Carl Carl... I've had a one-way-no stop-first class seat on the A-Train to Hell for quite some time now. I think I got the first class upgrade around 94. This just upgrades me to "Platinum Club Member". I'll save ya seat Smee.

This sucks. I am sad.

There was a rumor at the cemtery where I usta work that Johnny Cash had bought substantial land there to build a private mausoleum. I doubt it's true, but we'll see.

It's very sad about Johnny Cash, but I'm more upset about John Ritter. It was very unexpected, and he had four children, one of which was only five years old. sad.gif

I'm pretty darn saddened by the death of John Ritter.
He perhaps made the greatest guest appearance ever when playing an evil robot dating Buffy's mother... It's pretty weird for John Ritter to be dead now. In the past I'd never cared much for Three's Company. In fact, I regarded it as rather banal. When I was a kid I absolutely hated it, but I guess I just didn't get it. In the past few months, I've been watching Three's Company now and again and actually have been enjoying it. The same thing happened with M.A.S.H. and I decided that's probably my absolute favorite show ever. So, I'm rambling.

Definitely a sad moment for music with Cash's passing. NME has declared his death should be as mourned as Elvis'. Pretty powerful statement about the man in black's career.

I'll miss John Ritter most for his performance in Sling Blade. It'll be a while before I can watch that movie again.
