Great show at the Echo Lounge in Atlanta. I don't know if there are any Broadcast fans (smee? did you mention them once before?) but they were excellent last nite. Manitoba was unbelievable. So much sound and energy. They were incredibly fun. Broadcast played the good stuff, even from their older albums:
Pendulum
Come on Let's Go
Unchanging Window
Book Lovers
Before We Begin

They had class, but if it wasn't for Trish, the two guys would have been indistinguishable and forgotten (the british...). She was decked out vintage, as usual. I wish I could buy vintage mod clothing from London. She was quite amusing when she turned down the guy next to me's request to sign his LP. She was like, "Sorry, I don't do that."

Anyway, great show if anyone cared to know.
Why would you do that?

that's cool. book lovers is actually one of my favorites. kind of disappointing to hear about her attitude though. i think she's a cute robot.

Neuboy went. Said it was great. I was going to go with him but I had to bitch out at the last minute because my car needed fixing. I love Broadcast and Manitoba. Both of their records are in my top five of the year.

Yeah, this show was pretty incredible. I tried to get so many people to go with me but to no avail. I ended up driving there and back alone. The trip down was fine but I had to make some calls to my womun friend on the way back to stay awake. Thus far everyone has failed to mention Hawk and a Hacksaw, who preceded Manitoba. It's the solo project of Jeremy Barnes, former drummer of Neutral Milk Hotel and current drummer for Broadcast. He pulled off the one-man-band/lonesome organist thing perfectly. He played accordion while doing percussion stuff with the rest of his body. You'd really have to see it to believe it. I thought it far superior to Manitoba who I just wasn't impressed with. Broadcast blew it out. Trish Keenan has the coolest hair I've ever seen. She falls in a long line of femme fatale's starting with Nico and coming down the line to Laetitia Sadier of Stereolab. She's definitely the only member of the band (four guys, not two) with any semblance of stage presence. The rest were very stodgy and very english. Anyway, great show, glad I went.
