...is a FUCKING GENIUS!

I've been listening to alot of SELF lately. And every time I do, I am further reminded of the staggering genius of this man. I told him that to his face, you know, I told him that he's a genius, when I crashed the going-away party at his house. He was very humble about it.
Relevant: Prince, PT Anderson, Punk, Post-Punk, Purple, Party of Five, Peter Swanson, Peter Gabriel-led Genesis, "Peter Panic", Paul's Boutique, Potential Energy, Every Features MB member but me.

It really sucks that Ornament and Crime has been indefinitely shelved. From what I've heard, it's a really great piece of work.

It's the Spongebath Curse, YDDD. Wasn't Breakfast With Girls held up for over a year, too? The finished product never disappoints, though.

Someone stole my BWG disc, but I never have been able to get myself to throw away the case. I kept thinking it would turn up somewhere, but it never has. Bastard thief, whoever you are!

I got my car broken into a couple of years ago and Gizmodgery was stolen. It was expensive to replace, and I was pissed.

I listened to BWG again yesterday, and it was terrific, once again.

This is true, but at least then there was a label.

I thought the B-Sides for Ornament and Crime were so great that I can't imagine the actual album topping it. That must be one incredible record!

Matt doesn't like the b-sides too much. They may be the next released thing, though.

Yeah, Self is probably my favorite band ever. And the O&C Demos I've heard are really great...it's definitely a conscious effort to rock a little harder and be a little more focused on getting some mainstream success. Too bad it'll probably never be released properly, but I'm waiting anxiously for some MP3s to mysteriously pop up on the Internet...

I'm sad I missed the MM interview on Sirius yesterday. Apparently he addressed some pretty big issues about what the band's doing. Also, Matt's been quoted as saying that even if he can never get O&C officially released, he'll simply make something better. I love that guy.
