Any metric fans out there? I found the video for Combat Babyhere. Femme-Pop at it's best! Think of a less offensive Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Disco beats, confident and layered vocals. They're playing in a few weeks at Exit/In. $8, 18+. Check 'em out.

i liked 'em when i saw them open up for broken social scene, and this is coming from a person who is opposed to most female singers.

I want to retract this comparison. Upon further review I would more closely compare them to Veruca Salt, That Dog, or Rilo Kiley. So, what I'm saying is they're pretty damn good! I've heard they give a pretty energetic live performance, too.

Everyone's talking about how hott the lead singer is, but she looks extremely plain to me. I guess I just need to see her in action" before I decide. I'll probably be falling in love.

I really like that song/video. I think I might check them out (though unfortunately probably not at the show).

My opinion: this band is great, but a little overhyped (from what I read). Yeah, it's high energy and she's sorta cute, blah blah blah, but it just seemed to lack some punch. I think they needed another guitarist or something. The frontwoman is a bit too overdramatic for my tastes. She just tries too hard. Beth Cameron from Forget Cassettes has 10 times the stage presence with seemingly 1% of the effort. Speaking of FC, they inserted their newer song venison into another song (Scales?) where they used to do a Zeppelin cover. Pretty cool, but the crowd was pretty sucky. Overall, I really enjoyed myself.

But don't take my word for it, you should ask Sina. She wasn't there, but I'm sure she can tell you how gay it probably was.

the least gay thing to do lastnight was to watch 'adam returns.'

metric sounded gay, it's fitting that they would suck live.

Metric sounds like this mid-90s band called Sleeper.

I saw them play an outdoor show in Boston about 10 years ago. Last night was MUCH better.

- I only heard one Velcro Stars song, but the singer's voice was very annoying.

- Forget Cassettes was on last night. I hadn't seen them in about six months, so I actually enjoyed this show. Doni seems to have changed his drumming style during the subdued parts, or maybe it stood out more to me more last night; regardless, it was vastly interesting. Beth has started adding more unexpected, weird guitar noises to the songs and it makes a very positive difference. Plus, as someone else pointed out, the size of the Exit/In helped them out a great deal, since Doni's drums weren't drowning everything out. Great show, but I get burned out on them really easily, so I probably won't try to see them for a while. The crowd didn't necessarily suck, Carl. It's pretty hard to "move" to Forget Cassettes when they play slow most of the time. It's hard to get Nashville fans to move, period.

- I really enjoyed the Metric set. The lead singer's stage presence was great. The beats of their songs were nice. I can't say anything really bad about this band. Personally, I thought that it was a great show. The lyrics and vocal delivery are what really sold me. And yes, she is very sultry. no, I didn't mean slutty. I wouldn't know about that. maybe later.

From what I remember-- at least one of them is decent. The chick should sing more songs.
