Marissa Marchant. Check out her Music page. It's really disgusting...and she's not kidding, either. Then again, it's just a matter of time before reality gives her a well-deserved sucker punch.

That is amazing. I was going to say Ryan Adams, who is still way up in the running, but this is ridiculous. The "gigs" page has some of my favorites.

They are cheapening music and talent, by selling it like it is fried chicken at kfc. I am not one dimentional.

Yeah, her CD is sooooo worth $1000... ph34r.gif

Click here for some more fun.

Looks like a few short weeks ago, her live performance fee was half what it is now. If we'd only known!

And here as well. You have to scroll down.

And this is an example of her posing as some of her fans to defend herself.

Alright, I'm done.

The ironic thing is, if a major actually offered her a good contract, I bet she'd sign immediately. Or maybe not...maybe she's really just conceited to the point that her priorities are entirely jumbled. Besides, it's amusing how she keeps on bragging about herself on such inane levels...she calls her self a "one woman beatles on a higher level" or some shit like that. I haven't heard her music myself but the people who actually can swallow her tripe and then listen to her music have told me that it's just generic christian folk garbage.

Man, I can't wait for her to go under. Someone (on the message board I got this from) actually met her and she's like this in person, too. Jackass.

What I listened to was too terrible to be classified as "Christian Folk Garbage."

the part where the guy altered her post to talk about weblogs instead of music was high-larious. now, i would have paid $1000 to read that.

"4 album set available for $2000.00"........"1 Cd is complete, I'm in the recording studio recording the other 3."

Recording the other three? At once? She's like the Ryan Adams of Alternative jazz, folk fusion...alternative, R and B, R and B fusion, mixed with jazz. Celtic fusion mixed with show music and jazz. Rock without drums, with a heavy blues feel. Folk Rock with no drums. Sophisticated music. Complex. Asian folk fusion with vocals. Middle Eastern vibe with show music melodies, and folk feel. Jamacian feel, and vibe with jazz and vibraphone. Classical. Operatic material. Open tunings and unusual urban folk. Show music with jazz feel in the middle and classical influences. Simple pop tunes.

Let me tell you guys that I am just SHOCKED to see that 1.) she has no upcoming shows, and 2.) that there are no photos from "past shows." I figured venues would be lining up to book Marissa Marchant for 50,000...uh, I mean 25,000 dollars a show.

But I like how her bio was written by another person. It would've been totally shameless for her to write it herself, you know?

This chick seems like she needs to get her head out of her ass.

However, this topic also leads to another topic; which is "who is the most obnoxious musician you've ever seen on stage?"

the most obnoxious musician i've ever seen on stage is Dave Paulson.
death to slack. overrated and whipped.

holy shit. my friends and i looked at this page for about an hour last night and i swear i have never laughed so hard. we concluded that the "corkboard" was really just her and her dog sitting around. her dog would ask her questions and she'd be going crazy and
she would sit there going, "shut up julian! i don't live in staton island!"
i guess you had to be there.

we also downloaded some of her "just demos' and they are really terrible.
the next time im feeling suicidal, im going back to that page.
thank you for being a friend.

probably not...but i don't like him--i tried to, for all his seemingly good intentions and his attractive musical influences...but i can't help hating his guts--he's a fraud, like the kings of leon. they can all get together eat my ass, fuck off and die for all i care. his cover of wonderwall is rubbish--even more crap than the original.

I liked "Wonderwall." There was a band covering it tonight at the Flying Saucer, and it reminded me of what a great song that was. I miss the days when Oasis were good.

i liked it at the time, but in hindsight it was just, as usual for noelly g., a lyrical travesty. i mean, while we're on the subject of obnoxiously conceited musicians, how about the gallagher brothers--take your pick, they're both pricks.

Well, I thought it worked better when Liam wasn't trying to write songs.

Little James, we're all the same
They always seem to look to us
But we weren't meant to be grown ups
Thank you for your smile
You make it all worthwhile to us

You live for your toys, even though they make noise
Have you ever played with plastercine
Or even tried a trampoline
Thank you for your smile
You make it all worthwhile to us

I'm singing this song for you and your mum that's all
'Cos it won't be long before everyone is gone

Sailed out to sea, your mum you and me
You swam the ocean like a child
Life around us was so wild
Thank you for your smile
You make it all worthwhile to us

I'm singing this song for you and your mum that's all
And it won't be long before everyone is gone

good point. when you look at it like that, wonderwall was a masterpiece. i'll concede it was a good song, the words are just troubling...in ryan adams hands it's a real piece of crap--he's releasing it as a single, too...i still love 'definitely maybe'...the thing is, i think if you're going to be really dumb, you better be fucking loud. they accomplished this for the most on their debut--i barely noticed that they were retarded because of the brash, distorted guitars and the attitude liam exuded--i could say a similar thing of travis. the first record is my favorite--fran healy is dumb, too, but 'good feeling' is a gut-level rock n' roll album...from there it's been downhill for them...if you are even capable of penning lyrics as 2nd grade-first-time-rhymer as fran's, you better not start trying to churn out these sensitive ballads with spare arrangements; no, surely you turn the guitars up...i have travis's latest album, and it's ok...but it can't touch the first one. "bad, sad, mad" indeed!

i think travis has been consistantly great all throught their career. they were the first band i ever saw live (opening for ben folds five) so i have a soft spot for them.

and i also loved "wonderwall" in fact i think oasis's first 3 albums are soild. they kind of fell through after that.

i was a huge fan at one time--i travelled far and wide to see their shows...well, i went to cincinatti a couple of times and to atlanta. so i wanted them to be consistently great, if anyone did, but...i'm still a fan, i guess, but i've made no efforts to go see them or anything. i've been disappointed with their lack of growth as a band, and fran's as a songwriter...just one man's opinion, mind.
