TOPIC: New Pearl Jam Compilation

I know there's a ton of Pearl Jam fans here, so I thought I'd share the good news. In case you haven't already heard, PJ's dropping a double rarities album on November 11th. I assumed it would be mostly stuff I already have, but after looking at the tracklisting, I guess they take the term "rarity" much more seriously than most artists. Here's that tracklisting for any interested parties:

Track listing for Lost Dogs:

Disc one:
"All Night"
"Sad"
"Down"
"In the Moonlight"
"Hitchhiker"
"Don't Gimme No Lip"
"Walking"
"Alone"
"Education"
"'U'"
"Black, Red, Yellow"
"Leaving Here"
"Gremmie Out of Control"
"Whale Song"
"Undone"
"Hold On"
"Yellow Ledbetter"

Disc two:
"Fatal"
"Other Side"
"Hard to Imagine"
"Footsteps"
"Wash"
"Dead Man"
"Strangest Tribe"
"Drifting"
"Let Me Sleep"
"Angel"
"Last Kiss"
"Sweet Lew"
"Dirty Frank"
"Brother Instrumental"
"Bee Girl"

And yes, Sina, Pearl Jam sucks. I know.

I had heard vaguely of this, but knew no definites. Thanks for the news.
Does this mean that Yellow Ledbetter can longer contend for the title of "best song to have never been on a full length release"?
I am a horse with no name.

Yes, but I still believe it fits in the "one of Pearl Jam's top 10 songs" category.

I have to think hard about best PJ song to never have appeared on a full length. State of Love and Trust, Breath, and I Got Id come to mind. I'm sort of surprised they're not on the double album. Some would say they're not rare enough, but if they're going to put Ledbetter on there, what's stopping them?

Thanks for the tracklisting. This is the first I've heard of this album.
"Sugar, Mr. Poon?"
"No, never, never... thank you."

Actually, they've been teasing the fans with it for a few years now. I believe they've promised a release by x-mas for the past 3 or 4 x-mases. I guess they were too busy releasing their last two tours in their entirety. The fact that it's a double disc will hopefully make up for the long wait.

By the way, they're also releasing a double DVD of a Madison Square Garden show from the most recent tour. I think that's also out on Nov. 11th. Luckily, the Matt-Cam makes its return!

I hope the quality is better than the last concert video they released. They loaded so many songs onto it that they had to raise the compression big time on the mpeg-2, thus lots of dancing pixels. Wait, that's probably more tech language than we need around here. I hope it looks tons better! Good news on the double rarities. I realized after reading that tracklisting that I don't know as much PJ as I thought I did. This will be a good way to catch up.

Which once again proves that I truly have my finger on the pulse of the musical world. I'm still wearing my "Achy Breaky Heart" oversized t-shirt that I won at the county fair.

No way, dude. Don't you realize how cool that is? It's all retro and shit. There's a lot of kids around here that would mess their pants if they found something like that in their favorite vintage clothing store.

I agree with the first statement. I seriously doubt the second.

And no, RD, I do not hate Asians. Just Stopforme.

It's a Bsides album so I think Yellow Ledbetter can still be considered an "outtake."

But yes, greatest song ever.

And look for hometown boy Cheetah Chrome to appear on the DVD in a highlight clip from the Nashville show. I helped hook that up so I'm glad that it's going to make an appearance. If you listen to the bootleg before "Sonic Reducer," Cheetah gives me props ("I wanna thank Jeremy.") Proudest moment of my life to have been immortalized on a Pearl Jam performance...kind of. Not sure if they are putting out a true Touring Band 2003 dvd though.

And I wasn't even certain Cheetah was going to be able to make it so I was floored when Eddie called him out on stage. That was an amazing show.
