Sound of Urchin. They are awesome.

I've got a friend in a band called "The Matter." I've never heard them, but she seems to think that they're good.
I TOTALLY AGREE!

Keith, you are destined to rock. Never forget this.

The Drive is really great. They're a little darker and harder-hitting than The Features, but I still enjoy them very much. I've just gotten tired of listening to the same 10 (although mostly excellent) songs...they need to finally release that damn EP. Anyway, here are some songs to give you an idea...

"Angel" (Nice, slower song)
"Solitaire" (Love the bridge)

Also, Call Florence Pow plays in NYC a lot, but I'm not sure exactly where they are situated as a band. Check out CFP's site for dates...I think they have an NYC show coming up pretty soon. Oh, and if you didn't know, CFP used to be a Spongebath band...definitely the best of their later signings. Somewhat akin to Self, minus the funk...check them out.

When we were there over the summer, we didn't know which way to go with local bands. Instead we went with local comedy. I was happy with that choice.

You know you have problems, with both money and alcohol, when you find yourself shoving beers down your pants outside a Features show.

I'm going the 19th-21st, then going to Boston. I HIGHLY recommend going to see Cabaret before it closes. That's the real reason why I'm going in the first place. It's in Studio 54 which is the best place for this show. Other than that, Turd and I may go to a few museums and probably go see Darrell Hammond at Caroline's, since we're not going to be able to see SNL sad.gif .

Did you see tomorrow's friend at The End in September? I didn't get to go. How was it?

I saw it. I thought they had a very entertaining and original sound. On the other hand, I wasn't really captivated by the whole set. They were really nice young ladies and I saw them frequently throughout the 2NMC weekend. I thought that was really cool.

This isn't a band, but...on my plane trip home, the woman sitting in front of me had just come from a business trip in NYC. She told me if I was ever there, I should go see her friend Candy Cane's show at Martini Lounge (21st and something, I think). The show is apparently "edgy" but tasteful, and she plays piano. So maybe that counts as music. I didn't ask flat out what kind of show it is, but I think the stage name "Candy Cane" gives everyone a good idea...Just a thought of a way to spend your weekend. blink.gif

this thread is pretty much pointless

considering the fact that flyingfeaturesfan in only 16, and the chances of him getting into any club/bar is slim to none.
