I care, don't know if anyone else does, but Oasis are playing the Ryman on March 26th. Tickets go on sale this Friday. Excitement overwhelms me.

Looks like mailing list tickets went on sale yesterday! Digsy, do you know if this and the Milwaukee shows are the beginning of a full-fledged US tour or just two very very special shows in very very small venues?

I saw them play in Austin in September @ ACL Fest, big show. They played an excellent set that ended with a cover of 'My Generation'. Hopefully they will continue touring, seeing them at the Ryman would be awesome.

I think this is just a small tour since the first leg was so successful. Not sure. I didn't get mailing list tickets, but I tried. I'll be in line when they go on sale.

I've seen them twice and, really, they are amazing. Both times I saw them from far away so the chance to see them up close at the Ryman blows me away.

There's a WRLT presale on thursday from 10a-10p. I noticed on Ticketmnaster that they're also playing a show in Ohio. Tix are $35-$55.

Where can you find info on the WRLT presale? I didn't find it on the site.

And would actually going to the Ryman's ticket office to get tickets be better than going to a Ticketmaster in a Kroger on Friday morning? Anyone know?

It was on the main page yesterday, but it has mysteriously disappeared. My only advice is to go back tomorrow before 10am and lay into that refresh button.

Main Floor Section 2 Row S

My buddy and I had to log in about a dozen times on separate computers and he passed up some last-row far-right balcony seats before I got those. I'd say we did alright.

Balcony.
Unless you're right up front on the floor, the balcony's the place to be, baby! That's where I am - right in the middle!

It's true that I don't really care for Oasis' current material, but I have never seen them in concert, despite the fact that for about one to two years (1996-97), they were my favorite band, so I feel like I owe it to my 18-year-old self to be there. Plus, it's the Ryman, man.

Yeah, I recall having to stand on the pews to see David Byrne. Being 5'6" (being generous) is a pain. Um, but, yeah balcony Noel-side, so that's cool. Really cool.

And I'm most excited because "Don't Believe the Truth" is such a great album. The show at Madison Square Garden was all first two albums and last two albums, completely ignoring Be Here Now and SOTSOG.

Does anyone else get the impression that they're just playing a full US tour and announcing one show at a time? It seems like it would be a good way to generate hype-- not that they would need it to sell out such small venues. Of course, it seems like they've always cared more about fame than fortune.

I really hate it when bands do that and I feel sorry for all the folks from the Indy area who bought tickets to the Ryman show thinking it was their only chance to see them. The same thing has happened to me on more than one occassion (i.e. Tool in Memphis in 2000 and Coldplay in Birmingham in 2001).

i have no idea why they're doing that. i suppose if they now scheduled a chicago show i wouldn't be upset though- i'd like to see them as much as i can. but this seated business, i'm not a fan of wink.gif and this last minute announcing of the shows- they posted this 2 days before tickets went on sale...the only reason i knew was because i was on the redwalls site!

who am i to question a gallagher though...

I checked 'em out. They sound pretty good if you like the Black Crowes and/or bands that sound exactly like them. Should be an alright opener.
