TOPIC: OutKast @ MTSU stadium

It was talked about in today's Daily News Journal. I think the date was Oct. 23rd ?

Anyway, they're doing right after a football game so that the attendance will be high enough for the Blue Raiders to stay in their conference.

Maybe it was a joke, anyone got the scoop?

I guess I had that one coming.

As long as he isn't telling me who to vote for every other song I'll be fine.

I didn't know Dre and Big Boi were currently performing together as "OutKast." I thought they were touring separately.

Anyway, if it happens, I probably would not go, despite how much I like OutKast. I'm not big on stadium shows, especially when the music is prerecorded. Truth be told, I'm not a big fan of rap in a live setting unless they use a live band.

Also, for the record, I don't have a problem with artists using the stage to tell people who to vote for. I don't think it makes good business sense, though, because no matter which candidate you endorse, a sizable percentage of your audience is not going to like your choice. And though I don't mind mixing music with politics, alot of people strongly do.

JUST Big Boi...please! I still think Speakerboxx is a much stronger album than the Love Below. I would love seeing just Big Boi if, as jamiecarroll said, he had a live band backing him (like he did on Chappel Show).

What were you thinking when you saw the light?
Were you surprised to find the world outside?
I felt so sorry for your little head
Was it depressing to just lay in bed?

Yeah, just Big Boi.

Free to MTSU students (with your ID), $15 to the general public. If you want to see the show, you have to arrive at the stadium before the football game is over.

Final number is like, 16 or 17 thousand. The rain had a lot to do with it, I think.

And 80,000 for a Grammy-award winning popular rap act is pretty reasonable, really. It would be different if more people had shown up, but you should see what other people ask.

Oh yeah. $80,000 is nothing. I would've thought sure Big Boi would be six figures.

If freezetag/snacksmilesback ever returns, she could tell you some stories. She used to book Rites of Spring at Vandy. If you're wondering how much it would cost to book your favorite artist, it's probably alot more than you think.

82 grand was indeed reasonable for a grammy award-winner. The damn rain caused him to cut it short. And his backup band is called "Wild Peach." Any underground hip hop fans out there should check out this group called Scratch Track!!! I saw them at Gent. Jim's with Last Tuesday and Mell, they are awesome!! They are three guys, two black, one white. The white dudes play a mean slide acoustic guitar, and the other two do human beatbox/rhyme/sing. ALL percussive sounds are made with their mouths!! www.scratchtrackmusic.com

Check it out, they will make you shake your bootwaa.
