I agree. For those that missed the show at the Sutler last night (which I'm pretty sure is everyone but myself and Sina), you really missed out. As if Peter's amazing vocal talent (a la Morrisey or Jeff Buckley) wasn't enough, Imaginary Baseball League also played a very rare and very entertaining lite show.

I'll also point out that Verde's low-profile set at the Havana Lounge last night was also gorgeous.

Go Titans!

It was on the website, mailer and Nashville Rage, but they didn't bother to further promote it with flyers/messageboard posts, etc. In fact, they were using this show to promote next friday's 2NMC show at the Blue Sky Court. Their first set was broadcast live on the Local Buzz radio show. What a bunch of sellouts. Unfortunately, I missed the Hot Pipes who also performed during the first hour of the same show.

Speaking of Verde, did anyone catch them on cable access last night?

One of the best Hot Pipes performances I've seen, although they wussed out and played the same songs in their "mini-set" that they did during the radio broadcast.

oh yes... it could be worse.... this was, i believe, (and poohbear's girl can tell me if i'm wrong)... her first interview.. and the guys decide that every question that is asked of them, they are going to answer in the form of a video game.... so she says something like, "well, how did you guys all get together to form a band" and someone says, "well, it's like in tetris.....yadayadayada" and they just go on and on and she is looking more and more helpless. but i couldnt' stop laughing..... every single answer was a video game, until mark tries to save the poor girl by answering them normally... but then the rest of the video, i can't even watch. it's too hilarious.

Hey guys, this is Mary from The Nashville Pulse. Yes, the Mary that had her very first interview with De Novo Dahl. The truth, yes, they caught me a little off guard with their vidoe game antics, but I wouldn't have put it on the air if I didn't think it was hilarious, too. I actually couldn't stop laughing myself when I saw it for the first time after the taping. Actually, it should be airing again on channel 19 not this Sunday, but the next (the 21st). I'm glad you guys got a kick out of it as I did when I saw it in completion and hope that you have enjoyed my progress as I have. It's really cool that you have seen it, though, and I am looking forward to hearing any feedback that you have to offer. Please email me at mary@thenashvillepulse.com or check out the website: www.thenashvillepulse.com
Let me know what bands you would like to see on the show! Thank you, Nashville, for helping me prove that there is more than country here!

Woop-woop! Thank you m'lady, you've made my night. I will be making a high-quality recording of that program when it airs.

Is there any way that you could put (on your website) a schedule of which episodes are airing on which dates? There are probably more of these (Verde, for sure) that I'd like to tape.

Thanks for all that you do!

Not a prob and you are more than welcome! It's been an awesome privilege and adventure to put the show together. The lineup should be: natalie/common ground/ del giovanni clique on the 14th; de novo dahl/lume/aireline on the 21st; the loft/undershade/trey mitchell on the 28th; and lower level/verde/ann gonzalez/billie joyce on the 4th. I'll verify that the station is going to run them in that order again and post that on the site. biggrin.gif

I think that the only thing that will come of you guys seeing this tape is proof that we're big nerds like Carligula and DickardDawson. MMMmaybe you'll be able to see up Serai's skirt or something worthwhile like that. Now that I'm thinking about it, Derek busts a nice move in one of the songs we do on there.

All I have to say is poor, poor Mary and poor, poor anyone who is subjected to this filth.

Foldsfan, did you like the shot of Ben Folds that I had in the first episode? It will be airing again this Sunday at 9:00. There are just a few clips of bands that were at the Uptown Mix ending the episode, but it's a pretty decent little segment. It has a little Carla Werner (who is extremely awesome) and Fleming and John as well.
As far as benefits from watching the show? a good laugh. I laughed my butt off. That's why I decided to let it air even though I look like a pretty big dork myself. Derrick's move on the second song is priceless, too, by the way! biggrin.gif
P.S. Peter Matteson is a pretty cool guy and can really sing and perform, yes.

The SP stuff was from the internet album they released called Machina II or something like that. I used to have a copy of it, and I used to have a bootleg of them playing those songs. I may have one or both of them, but I'll have to dig around...

I would, however, like to point out that the Features were not plugged. Shame on you (though this was almost a year ago).
