I bought this album at Tower last week after hearing it at a friend's place (released in 2003). I think it's pretty phenomenal. They seem to be showing off by touching on more than two handfuls of genres, but I think that it is done in a very engaging way. The second song on the album is featured on the Lost In Translation soundtrack. I can't quite remember the name of the song, but it evokes the feeling of driving through Miami in the 80's.

I'd like to know what any of the rest you think about it. I bet that JC would like it quite a bit.

"Too Young" is the name of the song, and was my favorite song for about a month. I agree, I think this is a great album.
That's so NA.

It excites me greatly that loads of people are catching onto Phoenix since LIT. If I ever feel better is the perfect summer song.

Yeah, my music guru friend burned that CD for me when it came out & I really enjoyed some of its poppy/ trippy tracks & I also thought it was weird that I didn't really read or hear about it anywhere else at that time. Some of the songs were boring, though. I don't know if they're still together?

i'm wary of the genre-hoppers...occasionally, its a good thing, smooth and believable, like the early gomez stuff, some of the beta band, or beck...but more often than not, it's unpalatable like ween. i've heard of phoenix but i haven't heard anything that i can remember...

I have a Phoenix album illegally sitting in my computer. I haven't gotten around to listening to it much, but I like what I've heard so far. I'm a big Astralwerks fan in general.
I TOTALLY AGREE!

Keith, you are destined to rock. Never forget this.

Also very good, although I think I prefer "United."
