Does that mean they will begin at 9:40 and play a 20-minute set, or will they begin a full set at 9:40?
I can't grow a beard, and I don't like to party.

It sounds as if it's some type of battle of the bands, so it probably is just a 20 minute set. Good luck RCP!

Yeah, 20 minute set. Supposedly $35,000 worth of "prize package" on the line. 9:40pm. It's $10, but if you want to go, I can probably put you on the guest list. Just PM me ASAP.

Apparently, Rich entered "The Independent World Series" (whatever that means) and the top 6 bands are battling it out.

Oh, I don't know who else is playing.

(Edited by Keith at 4:06 pm on Jul. 22, 2004)
I TOTALLY AGREE!

Keith, you are destined to rock. Never forget this.

But the Rage does:

INDEPENDENT MUSIC WORLD SERIES. With GORDON VINCENT, GUTA, JASON FELLER, LIVING BETTER ELECTRICALLY, POLONEIUS PLUCK and THE SWEAR. Showcase for the finalists in IWMS' annual music contest, selected from more than 1,000 original entries. An overall winner will be selected tonight, and all six finalists will be featured on an upcoming compilation CD. 8pm, 3rd & Lindsley, $10.

By the way, RCP is replacing one of the bands on the bill, so one of those isn't right. Not that I've heard of any of them anyway...

You can't give up hope just because it's hopeless. That's when you have to hope even harder, and stick your fingers in your ears and go "la la laaah!"

Seriously. Who are these bands? Should I be alarmed that I haven't heard of anyone in the "Independent Music World Series"? (Like I said, I don't know much anymore)

Oh, and one of the highlights of my night was some older lady (mother of a member of another band, I'm guessing) walking by us and telling someone "I can't believe they won! They sucked!" and me responding "well, you're old." Sorry, just needed to share.

Man, congratulations, Keith (and the rest of RCP)!

So does that gear get divvied up, or is it all Rich&Mindy's?

We're a little bit at their discretion, but it's going to be pretty well divvied. All I know is I'm taking the bass and amp and brian's defnitely getting the drums.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! my best friend/roomie's band, The Swear, is the one who had to drop out due to a death in one of the band member's family. they were all bummed not to get to perform, but really psyched to hear a local Nashville band won. as my roomie said "it was meant to be for RCP - that's awesome." i am psyched as well that it's one of the Nashville "fam." rock on!

(on another note Nashville band note, last night's De Novo Dahl show here in ATL at Atlantis was great!)

(edited to add a missing apostrophe! ye gods!)
