Im on the student crew for the gig on Thursday, so should get the chance to meet the Features.
What exactly is a "student crew" and what do they do?

We're pretty lucky here in Sheffield, cos its one of only four headline shows they're doing on this UK tour.
Anyone's lucky to see these guys play. I'm just realizing how spoiled many of us were being able to see them so often. I hope you guys have fun.
The student crew at our university help out the band's own crew when bands come to play.
The University has two venues, a large hall called the Octagon, and the Foundry, where the Features will be playing. When really big acts come to the Octagon (Status Quo, The Thrills, Gomez, Fatboy Slim, The Music and Rufus Wainright have played in the last couple of months), we usually end up just pushing boxes and building the stage, but every Thursday we have lesser known bands, such as The Features, and get a chance to do monitors, front of house and lighting for them.
Quite a few bands we had at Fuzz Club (Thursday rock night) last year have become pretty big: Bloc Party, Dogs Die In Hot Cars, The Zutons, The Killers, Kasabian, British Sea Power.
Its a really good opportunity to experience how a gig actually goes ahead. We also sort out all the University club nights, Tuesday-Friday. There's well over 100 students involved in TSC (technical services comitee), and also a few ex-students who return occaisionally cos its a good laugh. Its all voluntary, we dont get paid, we get vouchers for working, which we can exchange for cd vouchers, drink or supermarket vouchers.
