Is it just me or does Stuart Murdoch of Belle & Sebastian kind of sound like Tracy Chapman...

You must choose. It is like that movie "Sofie's Choice" only it is Nathan's choice. Do you know that movie, "Sofie's Choice"? It is like that. Only it is this.

Is it just me or does Stuart Murdoch of Belle & Sebastian kind of sound like Tracy Chapman...

i don't know what tracy chapman sounds like, really, but if he/she(?) is a proper singer then it's hard to imagine stuart sounding too much like him/her...stuart's voice is definitely an acquired taste. i love him, though, but it's not because he's the best singer in the world...his songwriting is where his bread is buttered, so to speak. is tracy chapman the one who sang "give me on reason to stay here..." i still don't know if it's a guy or a girl if that is the case. a boy i assume, but stuart sounds like a girl sometimes, too. maybe that's where the similarities lie.

No, I really don't think they sound similar. Her voice has a deeper, blues-y feel to it than lil' Stuart's.
