TOPIC: The Pixies @ the Grand Ole Opry

Does anyone know when tickets for this show will go on sale? I am extremely worried that I might miss out again as I did with the Atlanta show. If I miss this show I will seriously cry like a baby, and probably sol myself like one too.

Also, I heard that tickets will be $75, has anyone else heard that?

thanks,

Where did you hear about that show? I haven't heard anything about them playing at the Opry... blink.gif

I seriously doubt that the tickets will be that much. When Smashing Pumpkins played there, they were a normal $20 or so. I don't see how on earth the Pixies could charge more.

The price for many other venues (ones I believe to be comparable in size) has been in the neighborhood of $35. If these tickets are $75, then this is likely to be a special event (i.e w/ special guests, extra long set, TV taping, DVD filming, etc.). It may explain why this date was announced way after all the other ones, despite the fact that it's one of the first dates on their US tour.

This could be much like the White Stripes show at the Ryman that never happened.

Sad but true. Thank god we don't have to pay by the pound (like hamburger meat) or tickets would be $150....
I hate to see rockers get old and fat. Robert Smith is starting to look like the scary 46-year-old goth that works at the comic book store and wears T-shirts that say "I see your schwartz is bigger than mine."

I'm excited The Pixies are coming here now! I wonder when they will announce the date that tickets go on sale...

The pixies show has now been moved to the Ryman Auditorium and The Thrills are opening up.

I hear tickets go on sale August 20th, but I haven't seen confirmation on that yet.

Section 5 row F!!!

I was first in line at the Ryman. I didn't get there until 7:30. I was worried I would be way far back in line and never get tickets. Good thing I didn't get there at 5am like I had planned. I guess everyone was online for tickets.
