I guess this is good news, I had higher hopes for this semester's concert season though. There's always next semester.

Wow, they're still around!?! Aren't they on a minor label now? I liked 'em back in the day, but I never felt they moved in any particular direction with their music. Of course, it's especially tough when you have a 3 string guitar, 2 string bass and no-string drums. They do put on a pretty good show, however (I think I saw them withthe Supersuckers at 328 about 8 years ago). I might have to check this out...

The MTSU concerts committee is very excited to have booked this show on such short notice, and we would like to have a local band as the opening act. We already have a few bands in mind, but nothing is set in stone yet, so if any of you MTSU students have any suggestions (besides the obvious one), now is your chance to let them be known, and we will take them into consideration when we have our meeting later this week to decide which band(s) to contact.

Anyways, try to get as many people as you can to come to this show so that the University will see that students have an interest in MTSU concerts. Then they will give us a higher budget for next year so we can book more and better bands, and people will stop complaining about how nothing ever happens on campus.

Craig T. is truly wise. I can only aspire to be his Dauber.
We'll miss you Mr. Hooper.

I'm not an MTSU student, but the first band that comes to mind is Feeble Weiner. Much like the Presidents, they've definitely got that good, fun, poppy, nerdy vibe. Of course, you can't go wrong with De Novo Dahl either. I would be afraid that either band would upstage the headliner, though. If that's a concern...

That is somewhat of a concern. Good suggestions though. Feable Weiner is on tour right now, so I don't think they will be around, and De Novo Dahl is on our list.

You could try to contact Matt Mahaffey and get Self back to their old breeding grounds

Slack or De Novo Dahl. Either of them would blow POTUSA off the stage. Also, what about Jetpack?
Relevant: Prince, PT Anderson, Punk, Post-Punk, Purple, Party of Five, Peter Swanson, Peter Gabriel-led Genesis, "Peter Panic", Paul's Boutique, Potential Energy, Every Features MB member but me.

Also, when I can I expect to see Phish at Murphy Center again?

Slack is doing an east coast tour in mid October. The last I heard, Jetpack is taking time off to record. Otherwise, I think both are good suggestions-- although Slack may be a little too much for people expecting a power pop show.

When you can find a young girl for their bass player.

I believe that is in their rider now.
I am a horse with no name.

If you know my last name, then you know why I am very annoyed by that band.

I'd go see them if DND or the Features were opening (but I'm not an MTSU student)

Maybe... If our president doesn't over-rule the concert committee and use all of the money on the comedy stylings of Sinbad.....

Just a little rumor I heard.. via the grapevine

De Novo Dahl, baby, hook it up. It's always nice seeing Verde too. I'd go see Sinbad...umm, actually, I wouldn't. I would just say that I would and never actually go. Yeah.

It is now official: De Novo Dahl will be opening for the Presidents! The show is Oct. 23 in Tucker theatre. Tickets are only $5 (unbeatable!). Go to KUC 308 to buy tickets, or you can buy them at the door if it doesn't sell out.

Damn fine choice. Now I actually have a legitimate reason to make the trek out to the 'Boro.

I wish I could make it, but I believe that's a Thursday.

That, and I couldn't get a ticket ahead of time either.

about 200-300 (out of 800) of the tickets have already been sold. however, we are expecting for most of the tickets to be sold the day of the show.
