Ah, every cloud does indeed have a silver lining. My long-awaited plans for next week were recently shot to shit, but this opens me up for the possibility of seeing the Privates. Awesome!

I can't think of a better way to spend Cinco De Mayo than seeing Ryan's Privates.

Unless they were playing in Nashville.

Read what you quoted in your post for the time. The opener is yet to be determined, but I should know by tomorrow. Last minute is fun.
I TOTALLY AGREE!

I know that you meant that in a light-hearted way and that's ok; but after getting my hands on some of their recent demos, I really like this band. They have some extremely catchy songs and (in my opinion) have come a very long way since I saw them for the first time over a year ago. I think that Don Sergio is an amazing drummer, and they have some great guitar hooks as well.

Anyway, I'd say that diss is fairly unjust, Carl. They're no Lume.

They remind me of De Novo Dahl when I first saw them. They seem to be in a phase where it takes a few shows for a listener to get accustomed to their music.

It definitely took me three or four shows. As of late, I don't think that the same amount of time is necessary for new listeners. Their set is a lot stronger now than it was a year and a half ago. And, it was pretty good then.

One of my sister's friends told her that the Features were playing there tonight. I'm assuming that it was a simple misunderstanding b/c rollum is in the band, but I've heard the ole "you know what happens you you assume things" addage about 80x this week and was just checking to see if maybe they weren't headlining or openening... I'm sure most of the band is prolly sick of doing shows now, but it wouldn't really SHOCK me either way.

The message board member I was with was feeling ill. Not to mention, the paper she had to write when she got home. If I had known your intention to speak to me, I would have told Erica to fuck off and wait. As for how I liked the show, I was very conflicted about it, even though I enjoyed the music. On one hand, I would have liked the vocals to have actually been audible, however, then I would have had to listen to Dave. It is a conundrum.

Although I couldn't enjoy the vocals, I could definitely appreciate that haircut! Looks like someone is trying to break free of being in "that band with all the pageboy haircuts".

This was a mediocre Privates show at best. I don't think the Red Rose is worthy of these guys.

I almost like them now.

For someone who talks so much shit about dave, you sure seem to have a certain love for a certain Esposito song that happens to be downloaded to your computer. How bout a copy of that while I am thinking to ask?

hell yes! it was fucking awesome.

I have one lame comment and that is all - Dave got all Rapture/Gang of Four on the guitar at the beginning of Pocari Sweat. it was badass.
