TOPIC: uptown mix schedule
Posted  Thursday, July 29, 2004 at 9:42 AM
Post 1 of 31
according to the uptown mix website, wilco will be playing september 22! hooray! also making appearances this summer are jump (little children), wheat, and ben folds...in the hated "brad about you" column, it says that The Polyphonic Spree will be performing at uptown mix this summer as well, but there is nothing listed yet on the mix's site. if he's wrong about this, for a second time, i WILL kill him.

I am very excited about seeing Wilco again and seeing the Old 97's for the first time. This is actually a pretty decent schedule. smile.gif

Yeah, but the $10 price tag should do a good job of keeping the poor ones away.

It has taken a long time, but I think I'm a Wilco fan now. I'll be there to see them for the 2nd time and to coo over my long-time guitar hero Nels Cline.

I'm sorry, but could you please stop this nonsense. and the pseudo-flirting, too.

no, but I'm going to the show. I found out today that Alison Moorer is performing on the same night as the Features and Polyphonic Spree. I am very much interested in catching her set. And this is for a number of reasons. The first of which being that she seems to be a somewhat respectable country artist in a sea of douche. The other being that she is super-duper hot. and maybe I'll talk to her about Gram Parsons and how that jumpsuit was so fucking rad. Then, we'll make out. That is, as long as I can keep her from meeting Keith.

I've missed you bitches

Ouch.
I TOTALLY AGREE!

Keith, you are destined to rock. Never forget this.

allison moorer is way smoking hot. unfortunately, she's married to some loser. so it goes...i saw them play a bit, too, and they sounded pretty good. really good, in fact, for what it is--not usually my kind of thing.

Her husband can be seen as "the bartender" in Allison Kraus's "Let Me Touch You For Awhile" video... I think his name is Butch. I'm not making that up.

That just means Jump will actually get a good turnout. They should be happy to play with such a big draw.

Astronaut Pushers are slated to open for Ben Folds. Way to go, guys!

pretty good... i really suck at writing reviews, as i tend to like everything, but... pretty good. nels cline is my new favorite guitar hero, i think. 'a shot in the arm' and 'poor places' were some of my favorites.

uhm... anyone else?

I was bummed that I had to miss this show, but, since I haven't heard much to convince me it was all that wonderful (aside from don'tstaylong's new adoration for Nels, which I hear from Yadadada all the time since he loooooves him), I guess I'm not that sad. Wilco is kind of hit or miss for me. Sometimes I really like them, and sometimes they bore me.

i had no idea he was so well-known on his own. i saw em at bonnaroo and i enjoyed it, but didn't notice all the crazy stuff he was doing during the set.

i figure it was worth the $10 i paid to get in. i had a pretty close spot though... i can see how people would be underwhelmed if they were further away.

He isn't. I just happened to befriend a one of his huge fans a few years back.
