American League
Anaheim (West)
vs.
Boston (Wild Card)

Minnesota (Central)
vs.
New York (East)

National League
Houston (Wild Card)
vs.
Atlanta (East)

Los Angeles (West)
vs.
St. Louis (Central)

Predictions
Boston over Anaheim (5 games)

New York over Minnesota (5 games)

Houston over Atlanta (4 games)

St. Louis over Los Angeles (3 games)

Wednesday's winners should be Houston, Boston, and New York.

I'm still kind of pissed that Oakland and Chicago blew it during the final week of the season. Houston is 9-1 over their last ten. They are the Florida Marlins of this year's playoffs. They're the only team that I can imagine beating the St. Louis Cardinals. Pedro and Roger Clemens should win on Wednesday. The Yankees will win tomorrow, but I don't think that Jon Lieber will get the victory. Their offense will just hit a lot of doubles and homeruns.

and mad props to the Sketch Club for beating Al Qadea 13-9 in the fantasy baseball championship.

The F'ing Cubs. What a waste of emotion. Why do I ever expect any different from them? And the meltdown apparently has continued even after their season is over. Have you heard this mess about Sammy getting caught in a lie about when he left on Sunday? The Cubs publicly said they went back and checked the security tapes...the SECURITY TAPES! Hilarious! Anyway, the Cubs' World Series window has officially slammed shut - that team will be completely busted up this offseason. Expect to see Sammy, Moises ( sad.gif ), and a couple of their stud pitchers dealt before next spring.

On to the 2004 Playoffs. Why am I even making predictions after how terribly wrong I was last year? As evidenced by my embarassing showing in the Features MB Fantasy League, I don't know shit about baseball outside of the NL Central. But here goes:

Boston over the Angels in 3
Yankees over the Twins in 5
Atlanta over the Astros in 4
Cards over the Dodgers in 3

I'm officially rooting for the Red Sox.

excellent advice.

I don't really follow baseball, but my roommate, The Sub, was calling for Anaheim.

I don't really follow baseball, but my roommate, The Sub, is calling for The Angels.
Tell the Sub that being above water must be making him delirious. Not even faith can get the Angels past this round.

However, The Angels - Red Sox matchup tonight is one that I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole. Either of the starters could pitch a completely awful game or a postseason gem. I really don't know who to pick in this game. I can't imagine Boston losing their first home game of the playoffs, yet I can't imagine Anaheim being swept. I'm going with Boston and the sweep.

In our other American League match-up tonight, I have the Yankees beating the Twins in Minnesota. Kevin Brown probably won't make it out of the fourth inning, but the Yankees will be playing on turf and it should make for another exciting game, albeit a Yankee victory. Torii Hunter has officially upped his market value in this series.

1-2 yesterday, miscalling the Braves extra-innings defeat of the Astros. 7-8 in the playoffs thus far. Today does not pose well for this record. In other news, I hope that the Braves can knock Houston out of the playoffs. Otherwise, I'm officially nervous as a St. Louis fan.

Man...can the Cardinals mash, or what? I don't know if I've ever seen a team that can just homer seemingly at will like those guys can. I had been thinking that whoever won the ALCS would win the World Series, but I think at this point, I've gotta go with St. Louis.

Speaking of the ALCS...come on, Boston - at least make it interesting!

Yeah, I'm glad to see the Sox finally get over. I have to admit, though, that I found the World Series a bit anticlimatic after that awesome ALCS. It was so, so very sweet seeing the Yankees pull the biggest choke job in the history of baseball.

my dad and i are very happy with the outcome.....a closer game would have been nice...but it seems fitting that they would just come out and represent with a passion.....i'm just glad the yanks didn't win this year...i get tired of them winning all the time....its about time we had a new champion.....
We have about 1500 songs.....all of them good!
