Ben and Jen Call It Quits

Hollywood's hottest couple Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have ended their high-profile romance, after months of speculation. The stars split on Tuesday, amid persistent rumors that they - who were apart while Affleck, 31, attended the Sundance Film Festival and the European premieres of his film Paycheck earlier this month - were growing apart. J.Lo's publicist says, "I am confirming the reports that Jennifer Lopez has ended her engagement to Ben Affleck. At this difficult time, we ask that you respect her privacy." While Affleck was overseas, Lopez, 34, was seen partying in Miami, Florida, with her old flame Sean 'P Diddy' Combs - and going out without her 6.1-carat pink-diamond engagement ring. Combs and Lopez both denied any romantic involvement. Just a day after her split from Affleck, Lopez was spotted out at West Hollywood restaurant Morton's with pals. The pair's elaborate September nuptials in Montecito, California, were called off at the last minute "due to the excessive media attention surrounding our wedding". They never officially set another date for the anticipated ceremony. Lopez and Affleck, who met while filming the critically-panned movie Gigli in spring 2002, became a couple in July that year as Lopez's marriage to Cris Judd - her second - collapsed. Affleck and Lopez's second onscreen collaboration, Jersey Girl, will hit screens on March 19.

Oh god, another one? Damn it

As for Affleck, he can go fuck himself. He's such an overpublicized douche.

Selena and P. Diddy are so doing it again. But, if J. Lo needs some more lovin', I hear that Keith's single.

Maybe it won't be THAT horrible. It is a Kevin Smith film.

Since It's a K. smith movie there might be hope after all.

Hopefully so. I still don't understand why a director as cool as Kevin Smith would cast that bitch in any of his movies. Fortunately, she is apparently killed in the first 10 minutes. YAY! (check out the preview at apple's quicktime site) Additionally heartening is that she's only in the preview for about 5 seconds. There is hope. I'm sure every marketing meeting for this film involved the phrase, "ok, how do we not advertise this as a Ben and J. Ho movie?"

Bill, it was a different time. It was back when we didn't know the Russians were incompetent.

Everyone has this praise and hope because it is Kevin Smith, and I gotta say... has he really had the kind of output that he can be trusted to deliver anything that is worth watching more than once?

Wht happened to the Clerks animated movie? The animated series is the best thing he's ever been involved with.

Will
You may like grandma's yard gnomes, but I've seen Rock City. Remember it.

Uh, are you serious? You've got to be joking, Will.

No, I second Will on that. The animated Clerks was totally great and I'm really not a fan of the Jay and Silent Bob movies. (I've seen Dogma and Strike Back) I don't know, it's something that most of my friends whose tastes I share like, but I really don't like them that much. (The movies, not my friends)

Wiyum, I'm sure you've seen the movie "trailer" on viewaskew.com by now, but in the offchance that you haven't, it's up there.

Well, those are the wrong two to see. Check out Clerks and Mallrats sometime if you get the chance.

My main problem with the Clerks animated series was that, because it was for network television, it was significantly watered down. By that I mean that it was, like PG rated. Now before you jump on me, I don't have a problem at all with PG-rated humor. I just don't think that Kevin Smith humor translates very well into PG. But then again, I only saw about two episodes of animated Clerks.

you're right. his humour doesn't translate well into broadcast television arenas. i mean... jay and silent bob sold fireworks. I enjoy the animated clerks, but it's not a spectacle of tv programming or anything.

Since you agree that this is not important, I don't think you should even read this thread, let alone post.

ps - Dogma is my 13-year-old sister's favorite movie.

I guess this thread proves that any Ben/Jen relevancy stems from involvement in Kevin Smith movies...if that gives them relevancy at all.

Other than that, I think they are wankers.

Although, out of the two, I prefer Ben. He seems like he's able to laugh at himself, which is good.

I guess I just don't see why everyone thinks Jennifer Lopez is so hot.

I would say that Ben is the bigger douchebag of the two.

J-Lo is cute, but I've seen better at MTSU...no, no...I've seen better at Vol State, possibly even GHS.

I'll second that. I don't understand what all of the J.Lo hoopla is about. I'd put her in the 70th percentile at best.
