So it seems as though it is pretty much a done deal that a borderline mysognist, hitler loving, bad acting, political novice is the new Governor of California. Scary huh?

Reagan? Wait, I'm not sure he was a mysognist. I know he was a Republican, though.
That's so NA.

Well at least Conan can't use it as a stepping stone to the presidency being Australian (sic) and all. Although, as of late the government has decided to step on the rest of the Constitution, maybe they can fuck with that part too.

If I had it to do all over again, I may have named this post "Total Recall"

Oh! That would have been so good! But I like it anyways.

Hitler-loving? I'll give you the others, but come on--all he said was that he admires Hitler's speaking abilities.

I was going to say the same thing. i've searched on every site I can find, and all i've found is that he said he thought Hitler was a good motivator and orator, which he was. And that he invited kurt Waldheim, a Nazi participator back in the day, to his wedding. Is that the reason he was invited? Sure, if you want to seem like an uninformed propagandist. But 1. he was a fellow countryman and leader of Austria at he time. 2. He became the head of the War Crimes Commission in the U.N., a fact that I think just shows how ridicluous the U.N. has become.

The recall was BUILT INTO the California constitution. It is legal and has been attempted by both democrats and republicans before, it's rarely successful. Davis has just ran that state into the ground and the people want a change. they feel like they need a change. And I think, as long as it's done within the confines of the constitution, then let democracy work. i'm anxious to see what kind of tricks the democrats will turn now. Legislation is reserved for Congress. if the people of California find this process to be a bad idea, then they elect to the state congress people who will ammend their constitution. Jesse jackson, the visionary that he is, has already threatened to turn this into a race issue and is saying they may take the decision to the courts. THAT is what i call a way around the Constitution of which you speak.

It's not scary.

It'd be scary if he were in any position to command armies or finance the building of more weapons.

"Hey guys, the President has another idea for the prototype of a new weapon."

"He'll have to wait, we're still trying to design cyborg endoskeletons and machine guns that never run out of bullets. Tell him that liquid metal will have to wait."

I was embellishing. I thought that was obvious. I didn't mean to offend the bodybuilders in the crowd.

By the way, thank you for the Civics lesson. I didn't realize that a recall was in the California Constitution, I thought it was just some thing Fox News cooked up for ratings. And Congress handling legislation, who knew?!?

somehow I don't think he was referring to the California Constitution or the recall with his "step on the rest of the Constitution" comment.

How bad does Davis have to be to first of all, get RECALLED by a state that ELECTED him governor just a few months ago, and secondly, to have the people choose ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER over him?!! I mean, this is CALIFORNIA we're talking about - one of the most true blue liberal states in the union.

I did see Jesse Jackson on TV, talking about how, "This is not over. We are going to fight this in the courts." But the election wasn't even over yet!

This is a couple of months old, but here ya go.

For the record, I hate Jesse Jackson. But, I will probably miss him when he dies, for the same reason that I miss the Braves of the early 90's. I love to hate him. Aside from that, he's a jackass.

And yes, it would have been wonderful if this were named "Total Recall."

I wish Martin Sheen had been on the ballot. I'll probably be crossing California universities off the graduate school list now.

Hey,s rorry, you're right I wasn't getting the exaggeration. I guess I was a little defensive because there are people that really do think that this recall was just the republicans trying to cheat when it was obviously the will of the people. I'm sure it was a revelation to someone on the board and obviously wasn't for you. Sorry.

Martin Sheen couldn't run for governor of California because most Americans think that he's our President.

I think President Morgan Freeman would get my vote if he ran again. He did a lot that I agreed with while he was in office.

With Iraq's terrorists now suicide bombing Iraq instead of planning to put Anthrax in our oil, I think we must turn our fears to the real threat, big freakin' aliens. In which case, we should re-elect Bill Pullman, so that we'll know we have someone who can give a big speech and then fly a fighter jet to stop them.

Or if the terrorists are still a threat, we should re-elect Harrison Ford. Then we know he'll be safe on his plane.
