And Dean was the front runner a few weeks ago, and Edwards was near the bottom of the pack. Early primaries really don't mean much at all but do show who the frontrunners are going to be (Clark, Edwards, Dean and Kerry). The thing to keep in mind is that the average voter in NH is much more liberal than the average voter in Arizona or South Carolina or Tennessee. Kerry's popularity is probably going to be isolated to the Northeast. I'm hedging my bet for the win on either Clark or Edwards. Of the last 4 Democratic Presidents, all of them came from the South. McCain creamed Bush in NH in 2000...and we know how that story goes.

Jeremy

PS - And it's quite rash to say you'd rather vote Green than vote for ANYONE as compared to Bush. I'd vote for a baked potato if it was put up against Bush. The potato would win out on brains and charisma.

I've known that I don't like Dean for a little while now, but I just couldn't put my finger on why. Today, I figured it out. He doesn't seem to have the political savvy that I look for in a candidate. And to be honest (don't raise hell about this), he just seems like a goofball. All of this aside, I have liked Clark from the beginning. He is just about anything that I would want out of a president. He's a liberal republicans dream.

roadie, are you gonna take that lying down?

I agree that these early things don't mean a heck of a lot, especially if you consider them in light of the 1000+ delegate votes needed to make one candidate the nominee. I think Dean's lack of politico-ness is what I like about him. He seems to tell it like he sees it with little calculation, and sometimes it bites him in the ass. But I respect that approach. I don't believe any of that "Washington outsider" bullshit, though. Anyone who wants to be president wants to be the ultimate insider.

I called Kerry's win. But, i have a feeling Edwards may come from behind in NH, though. he would be a bland presidential candidate. Anyway, barring some horribly damning revelation, Bush will win.

His father's reelection was expected around this time of the year in 1992.

Didn't Bush trademark that?

Hmmm...I think that Bush expresses very few of his own original thoughts. I think he mostly recites what his neo-conservative pals want him to say, and that seems pretty calculated to me. I'm sure he comes up with his own ad-libs every now and then, but I think that's also when the embarassing grammatical errors get even worse.

I'd still rather have Kerry than Bush.

Though Kerry is a douchebag.

I don't really understand why you guys are so upset. Dean could never beat Bush. At least with Kerry you have a chance...maybe.
Bill, it was a different time. It was back when we didn't know the Russians were incompetent.

Or, one might say that the last four democratic presidents have come from the south. Sorry, I just thought that the way you phrased it, it was funny. wink.gif
We'll miss you Mr. Hooper.

Wait a second... Clinton, Carter, Johnson, Kennedy

By south, do you mean southern Massachusetts? Or were you cleverly (?)referring to Gore?
