I just found it on eonline and they brought up a good point: how do you have an 18 year old daughter in 2005 from a marriage that ended in 1985.

It's looking pretty false. Does Young happen to have any projects that could benefit from publicity?

Yeah, anyway you spin it, 18 is a year and a half too young.

For one, the marriage ended in early '85. The details are sketchy but it looks like the split was in March. That means that if conception occurred whilst they were together and she had the child after the break (as Sina suggested), the latest date for birth would have been Dec 85/Jan 86.

Therefore, the youngest such a child could possibly be is 19, with their 19th birthday having been way back in Jan 05/Dec 04 or earlier.

But Debarge claims the child was born while they were married. This means we'd have to be talking about a twenty year old. Yet, he also claims she is 18 now.

So, our three possibilties are:

A. Debarge is lying to get publicity for his album
B. Debarge fudged the details
C. The space-time continuum is in a state of severe flux

Personally, I don't give a rat's ass if Janet Jackson gave birth to a child, triplets or an Apache warrior tribe. Nor do I care whether she was married or got knocked up by Danny DeVito. Just more worthless celebrity gossip. I find some moron trying to promote an album and telling stories with obvious holes in it infinitely more amusing. She could have had a child every year for the last 20 years, but if she didn't have one in 1985, while married, the guy's a liar.

Janet'll still always be the normal one.
