After all Nader's done in his life, I'd hate to see his legacy be that he kept Bush in office for 8 years. I think everyone needs to ask themselves the question: Do you want Nader to get 3% again or do you want Bush out of office??

I highly doubt anything resembling 3% would support Nader this time round. I think this will be ignored.

good point. People are pretty disillusioned with his campaign from four years prior. Things won't go very well for him this time. Every time he's quoted, he'll be aknowledged as the man who cost the Democrats the election.
Bill, it was a different time. It was back when we didn't know the Russians were incompetent.

I think Nader is going to burn himself on this one.You have to be really stupid to run this time .I feel like he is disrespecting the state of the country .I kinda feel like that if you vote Nader then you vote in Bush.Nader is now on my shitlist after Bush of course.

I think yall are right I think he will be ignored just like last time. Although some believe that he believes similar to kucinich so maybe kucinich's thoughts will be spoken but I doubt it.

I love Nader. He's my public service hero. I do NOT believe that he was responsible for Bush stealing the election in 2000, and I'm a big supporter of non-mainstream political parties.

All that said, I'll not be voting for him this time around. He's not going to win, and I think it was a bad choice for him to enter this race. It makes even less sense for him to enter the race without the backing of a party. In fact, I think he should stay out of politics and keep being a crusader for social justice like he spent the 40 years prior to 1996 being.

[edit...I do take guilty pleasure in the fact that his candidacy led CNN to publish the following Nader quotes: "The liberal intelligentsia has allowed its party to become a captive of corporate interests." And he accused Bush of being "a giant corporation in the White House masquerading as a human being."]

Agreed, Nader is awesome. He stands up for what he believes in, and has been a major humanitarian and political activist for more years than Bush can count. I wish the news would cover more of Nader's past and accomplishments than revolving the stories around being a "spoiler." Nader's intentions are true. Will I vote for him? I don't know. In my view, he would definitly be the best president.

Nader's website has a million arguments for how he didn't cost Gore the 2000 election... But still, America isn't ready for all his ideas, even if they are good ones. It's good to push things forward, but in this case I think it's more important to keep Bush from being re-elected. He really shouldn't run just because he may end up taking democratic votes. I sent him an email telling him that. He'd better listen to me because I am right.

I feel the same way. Bush is going to win either way though, so there's no need to discuss it really.

he has mentioned bowing out at the last minute to support a democratic candidate. i feel that this is just a way for him to get his ideas out there again, and i cant argue with that. i do, however, feel that his money could be better spent for a cause that he [and i] cares about, or even saved for 08.

I think Nader is a total asshole for pulling this. I love the guy, he has great ideas, I voted for him because I wanted a viable third party, but come on. This is a shameless stunt in light of our current political climate. I agree that he will be ignored for the most part, but every vote counts this time. If I'd known how close it would be in 2000 I wouldn't have voted for him. What a dick.

Yeah, on Hardball last night he was asked who he would vote for if he wasn't running. He said Edwards or Kerry. Then, he was asked what he hopes the outcome of the election is. He said that in a fantasy world, he would win, but in reality he hopes that the Democrat wins because he wants Bush out of office so bad..... So, WHY THE FUCK IS HE RUNNING????!!!!!!!!!!

Because he wants ATTENTION, just like Bush, Kerry, etc..They are all the same...Full of shit assholes...Nader is too insignificant to get in the history books by actually winning the election, so he will fuck it up instead to make his terd mark and feel accomplished, and recorded...

Here's a link to an exchange between The Nation and Ralph Nader about his bid. Link to the original article first to see what they said, then read his response and their subsequent response.

I like Nader. I pretty much share the same views as he does. But he'll never win, though it'd be awesome if he did.

Check this out: Click.

It gives reasons why Ralph shouldn't run.

I still am not quite sure, how we are sure his votes would have gone to Gore. But stil it is pointless for nader to run so I agree with Erwic's link dont vote nader.(It is a wasted vote)
