I did. It was OK. I think he super overplayed the whole Vietnam vet thing. I know it's a big deal, but he actually said "When I was floating in a boat along the Mekong delta...." Weird.

Other than that, I'm glad he mentioned stem cell research, and it's nice to hear someone pronouce words correctly. That's kind of a big deal to me.

As usual, John Kerry harped on his Vietnam record, but he mentioned jobs 16 times in his speech...I think he's banking to much on a rapidly improving economy.

Good speech, but a little to long. He can enunciate, but he's still a bore.

Yeah, I guess being proud of volunteering to fight for your country is soooo 1989. I mean, why can't we all be like Shrub and do blow off hookers' asses and drink beer while keeping the skies of Alabama safe from the Viet-Cong?

I'm not saying it was a bad thing he brought it up, but he brought it up over and over and over....honestly, I think it was for people just tuning in to the speech. I like Kerry.

The fun thing I did was flip back and forth between two different stations after the speech was over to compare the commentary - CBS and Fox News. God, Fox doesn't even TRY to be fair and balanced. The nicest thing they had to say was he sure had a lot of balloons and it looks like fun to play with them.

not that CBS, NBC, or ABC even try to be fair.

I heard some pundit on NPR the other day saying that Bush using coke was just a nasty rumor- I thought it was pretty much a known thing & confirmed to be fact? Does anyone know the real story?
