So, I was just browsing the site before it gets overhauled and was reminded of the F.I.S.T. I was wondering what ever happened to this. Is anyone here a member? Are they still accepting applications? I doubt they really need help in the Nashville area and I prefer to do my promotion on a much more personal, informal level, but I was just curious as to whether or not this took off. I always figured that word of mouth would spread naturally as it has, but there's no doubt that such an approach would be pretty helpful.

Just wondering.

Go back and read the first posts on the board. I think one thing that hurt it at the onset of the board was Brian Eno2's very open criticism of it. I haven't heard anything of it since. If anyone accomplishes its vision, it would be Featuresgrl, but I doubt she's a "member" of this.

I only see two pages of old posts on here...

What happened, in a nutshell?

Mr. Bizz-

Here's how you get to the really old posts. First, select one of the categories (General, Misc, etc). Then, when you're on that page, you have to go down to the bottom, to the drop box all the way to the right, that should have "the last 30 days" in it. Change this to "the beginning," then click on "Go!"
Relevant: Prince, PT Anderson, Punk, Post-Punk, Purple, Party of Five, Peter Swanson, Peter Gabriel-led Genesis, "Peter Panic", Paul's Boutique, Potential Energy, Every Features MB member but me.

Here's the thread. If you look closely at the URL, you can see that it was the second topic ever started on this board. (The first topic had eno declaring himself as god.) It's nice to see that the controversies started early.

Yeah, but quickly died off a few months later, when every one started agreeing endlessly with each other.

so as never to agree with any person ever again, i will remain silent in any situation where my opinion happens to coincide with someone else's. and so should everyone else. this should narrow down the number of posts and make for a brief and dry reading of the meassage board.

or maybe not... blink.gif
