TOPIC: Features playing w/Guster

Even though I'm not a big Guster fan-- especially their live show, it's great to hear our boys are playing a few shows with them. Keith was just telling me last night that they had missed an opportunity to do so, but apparently they got another one. While not a stellar live band, they do draw a lot of people that could possibly fall in love with The Features like we all did.

Of course, I said the same of Jump and was promptly shot down...

I'm happy about this and will make it down to Atlanta if at all possible. I like some of Guster's stuff and have particular interest now that Joe Pisapia of Joe, Marc's Brother fame is in the band. But anyway, I think this is a better opportunity for The Features then JLC just because I would expect more people to be there. Even though Guster isn't much like The Features, most people who see The Features like them, so the more people they play in front of, the better.
I TOTALLY AGREE!

Keith, you are destined to rock. Never forget this.

I saw the Features play last night, opening for Guster(my favorite band smile.gif ). The day before the show, I checked on the Guster site to see who the opening act would be, so then I made my way to the Features website to check them out. I liked what I heard, so I was excited about seeing them live. I managed to get a spot front row, almost center. They came out and set up, and the entire time I was telling the people around me how great I thought they were going to be. I don't remember what song they opened with, but my friend Kat and I were completely absorbed in them. Not many other people were. They were all just standing there, blank looks on their faces. Between every song, someone would yell, "SEND OUT GUSTER!" or something along the lines of that. It really annoyed me. So, the Features aren't what Guster fans would typically listen to. So what? There was no need to be rude. mad.gif Everyone was there to have a good time, so why not just enjoy the band? I kept yelling really great things to them over the other obnoxious Guster fans. It just really bothered me. So at the end of the entire show, I went to the merchandise booths and bought The Beginning (and so did the other three girls I was with). They'll be back in my area in May, so I'm definitely going to check them out again & I'm forcing almost everyone I know to come with me. biggrin.gif So even if some of the people there didn't appreciate the band, a handful of them did. The last Guster show I went to, the Graham Colton Band opened. I enjoyed them, but not nearly as much as I liked the Features. (Yay.) They're a great, great band, and absolutely phenomenal live...though I'm sure many of you already are aware of that. lol.

welcome to the board rapidhopeloss!

good to hear a report from the show, albeit a kind of mixed one. I've learned that with the features, like most bands, people either love them or hate them... Glad you enjoyed yourself.

Welcome, rapidhope. It pains me to hear that most Guster fans don't have the good sense to enjoy the Features.

This should go down in the textbooks as the best first post since BrainEno2, and as the benchmark for what we hope all Features fans who come to know them from the tour will be like.
It should be linked from the rules thread.
