Does anyone know if the Features plan on re-recording their old stuff for future records? I really like the songs from the first EP. It would cool to hear a newer recordings of Button my Shirt and That's Me.

i'm in no way the authoritative voice on these things, but i can't see them reaching that far back for material...they have an enormous wealth of old unreleased songs to plunder, should the need arise, but those old songs from the first EP will likely remain just that--old songs from the first EP.

Yeah, it's doubtful. Not many bands rerelease their old material from debut EPs to put on new albums. Unless they're having a hard time coming up with new songs, and this band doesn't have that problem.

If they don't play it live right now, don't expect to hear it again.

I'm with you, monkey face. Old Features tend to be my favorite. The only hope for us ever seeing the old EP songs (or any of the songs from the three albums or so they recorded before settling on "Exhibit A") is if either Matt forgets how to write a song and realizes they need to draw on some golden oldies for the next album, or if the Features get super-huge and Universal someday issues a b-sides compilation.

If they release a 2nd album before long, I think a few other oldies might be included. They wouldn't be any going as far back as '97, but there's an outside chance that "God Save..." or something else might make the next one.

This would probably be a good opportunity to mention that I want to start a band called the Featureds that only plays from the Features' back catalog. I'm looking for 10 members or so. We'll sing several of the numbers as a choir and play enough instruments that the songs will almost be like an orchestra.

I always thought a Spongebath cover band would be cool. The Featureds is a great name, though.

I had trouble choosing between it and the Fea-tards.

I think they've played it in the last year... I'd have to go back and reread show reviews, but I'm pretty damn sure it hasn't been a year since...

I think someone requested it at the last Atlanta show, and Matt said "Sorry, it has been too long since we played that one..."
It is a good one-my first favorite. Didn't they play it at the request shows?

Yeah, it's one of my favs. I'm glad I've seen it live then if it is practically extinct.
