See you later
OK, alright
See you tonight
When you're able
To find
The time
See you tonight

(What you want and what you need?)
Stop making excuses
(Something something apology?)
Stop making excuses

Moonlight is all we need to make the night come

At the party
You know
I know
Something's going on
With the feelings I've got
For you
It won't be long

(Welcome to the party?)
(We are something at hand?)
No need to ration it
We'll drink up while we can
Tomorrow is a busy day
And no one really cares
(something ?)
In the garden down the stairs

I assume the falsetto parts in the pre-chorus represent the girl talking. I don't understand girls anyway, that's why I can't make out those lyrics I guess.

Maybe that whole section isn't the pre-chorus. Maybe it's the chorus and the 'moonlight' line is the last line of the chorus.

Whatever.

i am not sure bc it is different in the recording i have, but all the times ive heard/ seen the song done live, I thought he was saying 'moonlight is all we need to make the night complete'.
in the bluecats version, he cuts it off, the way he does in the beginning sometimes.
thank you for being a friend.

Yeah 'make the night complete' makes much more sense, but I've never heard him say it that way. He should.

the bridge is as follows.....
i went to the part with artillery in hand
no need for rationing, we'll drink up while we can
tomorrow is a busy day, but no one really cares
as long as we can make it through the door and down the stairs
"the world would be better served if you were hit by a donut truck"

'the night come', 'the night complete'.....I'm pretty sure its complete and its another one of those times where Matt cuts a word short by stepping back to play the guitar. This is where backup vocals would help.

Currently, Matt sings:

(What you want and what you need)
Stop making excuses.
(I wear my heart upon my sleeve)
Stop making excuses.

The lyrics to this part of the song changed sometime between February 9 , 2002, and June 21.

i think that it's 'to make the night come' every time until the last time when he says 'complete'.... i think.

I've been watching Matt closely the last few times they've played this song. He usually says, "To make the night com..." and then steps away from the microphone. However, you can clearly see him finishing the word complete each time he sings the chorus. You can't hear the last syllable, though, because he's away from the mic.

I was listening to moonlight and I think it's:

What you want, and what you need
Stop making excuses
Got no time, for what you see
Stop making excuses

I think it's:

What you want, and what you need
stop making excuses
I wore my heart upon my sleeve
stop making excuses

At least, I always do a hand motion of a heart shape on my sleeve when he sings that part. So it's got to be right, right?

I was looking at some tape of Moonlight today... I think its:

/I wear my heart upon my sleeve/

Splitting hairs I guess... but hey, why not?

The bridge part is:

/going to the party with artillery in hand/no need for rationing/we'll drink up while we can/tomorrow is a busy day/No one really cares/as long as we can make it thru the door and down the stairs/

That's from the Exit/In April 2002 show...

this song reminds me of days of yore, partying in murfreesboro.
You know you have problems, with both money and alcohol, when you find yourself shoving beers down your pants outside a Features show.

I have to agree with this one... Every time I listen, i swear it sounds like "got no...(something)"

everytime i listen to live version i have downloaded i hear the "got no ..(something)" lyric. everytime i listen to matt live though i hear "i wear my heart upon my sleeve." i think the lyric just got changed from the time they recorded it to what he now sings, which happens often.

As I've said before, I'm voting for "wear my heart upon my sleeve." In earlier versions of the song (i.e. before June of last year), he sang something that does sound like "I've got no time..." When was your version recorded? Perhaps you can help narrow the timeframe in which the change took place.

When the Features are big rock stars, I hope they bring this one back to the regular rotation. That way, they can have a video f/ Lil' John to do the "OK, alright" part at the beginning.
