It really doesn't matter to me how your birthday went--I just want to post.

Speaking of birthdays (well, not really. I just didn't want to start a new topic for this...), today is the 2 year anniversary of my first post here. I can't believe it has only been 2 years. So much has changed. I tried to post this on the "New Year's Eve with JMB" thread found here, but it doesn't seem to work anymore. Yes, this is completely irrelevant.[
I TOTALLY AGREE!

Keith, you are destined to rock. Never forget this.

Nobody cares, Keith. You act like you've been within 10 posts of JamieCarroll's post count all week or something.

For the record, I was at that show and The Features were great. I left before JMB played to go to a party. I think that's the most I've ever paid to see the Features ($12?). And they only played for 40 minutes.

Hey, that reminds me. I really hope De Novo Dahl does a New Year's show. Has anyone heard anything about this?

It worked, at least I read your post. But then again, I also saw that Forget Cassettes was playing at Red Rose on the 20th, so...

-Yeah, I agree, YDDD. A DND show would make my NYE perfect. I love New Years shows.

-Congrats on your 2 year anniversary, Keith! Two years ago, life sure was a lot different.

-That Features/JMB New Years show was awesome. The rest of the night kind of sucked, though. While I was taking Shea Steele home, I took a curve too sharp and my unopened bottle of rum went flying and shattered, soaking the inside of my parents' car. Then the New Years party turned out to be just a handful of people playing Tony Hawk 3. So lawnwrangler and Nate Jennings and I set out to find an open IHOP, but after driving all the way to Rivergate, we couldn't find one and ended up eating at Waffle House.

I haven't had a really great New Years since 2000->2001.

My 99-2000 NYE was the only semi-bad one I've had in recent memory. That one was supposed to be a huge deal, but I just ended up at a lame party. I have a feeling this is going to be the worst NYE I've had in a long time. I can't wait until the holidays are over.

Yeah, I'm a big believer in that rule. I think that one, MAYBE two shots are okay after you've been drinking beer. Any more than that and you're asking for trouble. I know I've been burned before.

I've never had a problem making a clean break and going in either direction. Switching back and forth has always been the bane of my drinking experience.

lucky. a lot of my guy friends can do that and never get sick. going from liquor to beer is no problem, though. i dont understand how that works.

I have always heard to downgrade as you drink. For instance, if you start out with rum and coke, don't make your next drink with everclear.
Now for the "beer before liquor..."its time to dig up some old biochemistry knowledge (I knew I took that class for a reason!) The carbonation in beer causes your body to absorb the liquor faster so you get drunk more easily. This also explains why just a few shots after beer seem to be ok.
