specifically, he fired me based on inaccurate information, but i guess he can't count or admit he's wrong. he also fired me in an unprofessional setting and had to have 2 other people there so he would feel more comfortable about firing "his best friend." best friend my ass.

I know someone who knows someone who knows someone who can make sure a snake finds it's way into someone's car for $175.

well, the inaccurate info is a bit complicated but i'll try to explain it as best as i can for those of you who have never worked for MTSU housing.

every two weeks you are given about a day or two to sign your timesheet. sometimes people forget to do this, but its no big deal because you can just go by the payroll office and sign it later and wait to get paid. anyhow, according to the computer labs, you are only allowed to miss signing your timesheet 3 times a semester or you get fired.

last night, during the middle of the lab assistant scheduling meeting, my boss decides to pull me into his office to discuss my evaluation. he said, i'm a good lab asst. blah blah blah...i got a 97 out of 100 on my evaluation or something like that. but then he proceeds to tell me he has to fire me because i missed signing my timesheet 4 times this semester.

i was quite aware that i had forgotten to sign it twice but was not sure where these other two had come from. while i was disputing this with him, he looks down at his print-offs and realizes that he's printed one of them out TWICE. so, i only missed signing it 3 times. well, according to him, i'm still going to have to be fired.

BUT, then i take a look and realize that one of them was from dec. 15th thru dec. 31st. i asked him if that would be classified as fall semester and he said he wasn't sure. WELL, YOU'D THINK YOU WOULD DOUBLE CHECK YOUR INFORMATION BEFORE FIRING SOMEONE. he proceeds to "cut a deal" with me, where i could resign and take another job answering phones in the fall. i told him, sure, i need a job and i don't really have much of a choice.

i was totally amazed at how unprofessional he was. i mean, if you're going to fire someone, don't do it when about 50 ppl are standing outside of the office. another thing, if you're going to fire someone, make sure to double check your info. oh yeah, and if you're not sure if something counts for this semester or last semester, ask someone.

i've decided to resign completely from the labs and not take his offer in the fall. i already have a job lined up for the summer. i also plan on emailing his boss and explaining how ridiculous and immature he acts.

oh sorry, for such a long post. i'd also like to mention that he put certain lab assts. on "probation" instead of firing them, despite the fact that they don't do their job. i do my job, but i get fired. and as i walk out the door, he says "you're my best friend, i'm sorry." well, fuck you.

Lougan just likes to be in charge... Even if you did everything perfectly, he'd still have something to say about it. I used to love the mass emails about stupid shit, like "MAKE SURE YOU DONT PUT COFFEE CUPS IN THE RECYCLE BOX" and he'd get really pissed about it. Trust me, I was there through 3 different Lab Directors or whatever they are called, and he has been by far the hardest one to please. I'll go along on the douchbag thing. Although I did see him at ONE features show.

As far as the timesheet thing....it is stupid....I used to roll into the payroll office every time to sign my timesheet late before lougan became in charge. Things were pretty slack as they should be, it's not a demanding position.

The payroll rule is something that has been mandated from the housing office, not lougan. However, one would think that they would check this information more than five minutes before a staff meeting, count accurately, and double check with the housing office. One would also think that the proper time to "clean house" would not be at the end of the year pizza/scheduling party, but then, sometimes one doesn't think at all.

I thought I was going to get fired yesterday. I was late with something and my boss asked me, "where the hell have you been? Sit down we need to talk." He waited a minute and then told me he was just fucking with me.

I half quit half got fired from my last job, and recently came back to visit and my biotch former boss threatened me if I didn't leave. I hope they help out The Features (and I'm sure they were involved in getting them the Guster shows), but fuck CAA.

Speaking of W, I got the goofiest thing in the mail yesterday. It was a picture of W and Laura and a letter to be a charter member for some campaign crap.

The frightening thing was that the letter read like some creepy ass white man's club. Full of things like "people like us". Really bizarre.

I figured I got on the list because I'm the CEO of my corporation (of all two employees!!!) It really freaked me out thinking that letters like that were going out across the country.
